So since there is no Naruto anime episode this week I figured I’d do a combo post with manga releases. Today I checked out the latest chapter of Naruto of course along with a coincidental upload of the latest chapter of Ouran High School Host club. In my opinion, poop hits the fan more in Ouran than in Naruto, since something incredibly surprising has to happen in Naruto for me to get that kind of feeling…actually Naruto was more of a big joke than anything else. In this OVA, Kokoro’s secret identity is a waitress at Sekai’s milf’s restaurant.

I figured that with this OVA they’d go nuts but I had no idea they’d go this nuts. XD Anyway this was a blast to watch, I definitely recommend everyone check it out. There’s not much to summarize other than it’s a basic spinoff all those 80s 90s sentai and mahou shoujo shows. Perhaps us old time anime fans will appreciate this more than anyone who got into anime after 2004. JP and I both thought it was awesome but they still added the School Days parody humor to keep the audience engaged who perhaps wouldn’t think that Kotonoha & Kokoro combining into one big “thing” was as funny as a nice boat. So everyone’s been doing Spring ‘08 preview posts…but since Spring ‘08 anime looks like poop I decided to check out which Spring DRAMAS are coming out! I actually found a few I’m interested in so I will talk about them below!

Zettai Kareshi - I read the manga not too long ago so the storyline is still fresh in my head. Also Hayami Mokomichi will be playing Night so it’s gonna be very hot. I am guaranteed to be blogging this drama (I think I’ll add it to my category list after this post!). I hope they do a great job with it and frankly this is the drama I’m looking forward to the most! I was watching CDTV this evening and I spotted an interesting commercial that I uploaded for you guys to see:

Pretty creative if you ask me, especially that “Touka Koukan” pun thing (if you haven’t watched Full Metal Alchemist I guess it’s not as funny xD). It was pretty surprising as I pretty much never see anime related commercials unless I’m watching an anime related program. Also, Sen no Kaze ni Natte is still in the top 50…after 2 years. Wtf

Also known as the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruka. Actually this entire episode was there for the sole purpose of trying to remind us why we should care about this OVA. But for some reason, the animation and character designs made everyone look REALLY UGLY. Especially Takayuki. The more I saw him the more he reminded me of some beefed up guy yelling “YEA FUCKING TOUCHDOWN!” at some rowdy American football game. I really try to get into this OVA but I just can’t get myself to care about something I watched over 5 years ago Spare yourself and watch something more interesting. (Attendees of Anime Boston may find this video familiar :P)
