Tegaki

Published by Hinano at 9:21 pm under Unsorted

So the latest craze that seems to hit the anime fanart world is Tegaki. It’s been popular in Japan before but recently someone had opened up an English version for English speakers to post their doodles. Tegaki is basically a Java/Flash version of MS Paint. Your tools are just pencils and colors. The rest is up to you. This makes it interesting to see who will post random doodles and who spends countless of hours making their art looks just as good as someone in an art program.

I decided to jump on the bandwagon because this is a good chance for me to practice my drawing since I got the coloring thing down but my proportions look like crap as always. :oops:

My tegaki in action:

It’s also a good way to get yourself to practice the basics, because in a tegaki, if you don’t have that down, the rest looks like crap and won’t make your picture look any better. Give it a shot if you want to improve your drawing or at least give yourself an excuse to draw more often. :)

    I’m quite amazed at what some people have done under such limited tools. Creativity + Skill > $$$ Graphic Tools.

    I can’t draw for nuts. The only things I can probably draw decently are stickmen, stickmen and more stickmen. Sucks to be a person who can’t draw decently >_>

    Is this like oekaki? Yeah it is amazing what people can do with super sucky primitive computer tools. Then you found out they used a mouse, too!

    I was going to say how impressed I was that DS hadn’t drawn a, you know, the D thing - then I noticed he’d linked to the test account and not his actual drawing ^^;

    Speaking of which, here my attempt ^^;. I really need to stop reading blogs when I’m supposed to be getting ready to go to work ^^;

    Most of the entries on there look way, way better than they have any right to be.

    :twisted: DANGO DANGO. I stumbled upon this by way of google while looking for oekaki to stare at… YOU, complete stranger, are cool. Real cool. By the way, what anime is that in the layout’s header? The image looks really pretty. :sad: I want to stare at more like this (overwhelming curiosity), but I cannot, ’cause I don’t know what it is. Ah well. Thank you for the nice info on Tegaki. Learned something today, that I did! :wink:
