Wow..
that was quite chaotic. It looks like this week was almost some sort of a filler episode about Otohanata (Otoha + Hinata) creating some weird world where she was Hirose’s “fiance” and Hayami and Hotaru were his sisters x_x; They even have magical girl otoha transformations, some kind of fake parody opening theme but in the end they tried to make it all serious by showing Otoha kissing Hirose and then disappearing. I kept thinking “ok since she’s gone now does this mean he’s going blind again?” I mean really what’s the deal with his blindness? It was there for like less than 1 episode and since Otoha is gone, is he permanently able to see? Talk about loose ends.
And speaking of chaos, it really got out of hand when they showed this image:
Yea that was definitely something ..else.

Unlike the former tjhan (who’s now too whipped to take upskirt figure photos) I don’t spend more than $12 on a figure and I don’t especially go out to take specially composed photos of them. I also try to not buy figures because they end up dust fodder on my manga bookshelf so along with today’s figure, I have a total of 3 and 3 sailormoon nendoroid figures. I also have really bad luck when it comes to trading figures - I never get the one I want (or maybe you can think of it as good luck because 2 of my 3 figures are the “secret” ones ??)
Anyway today at Kinounkiya I was hoping to get the Sumomo figure seen above, but as my luck would have it I got a Shana. It could have been worse: I coulda gotten Wilhelmina

So I
am up to chapter 133 of the Neuro manga which means this is the first episode I’ve watched where I’ve read the manga before hand. And let me tell you, what a sinking feeling it is when you know what’s been cut out and the disappointment is probably equivalent to my disappointment with Shugo Chara. They generally followed the story but I guess in order to fit everything in, they had to cut things out. One thing that the Neuro anime does, which the manga often doesn’t, is it pretty much throws characters out. So the Yuka girl, from the arc with Sai fighting Neuro, you haven’t seen her since, same with Aya. In the manga however, Yako often goes to Aya for advice and sometimes to Yuka for help as well. Needless to say, in this episode she made no appearance. Continue Reading »

So a couple weeks ago I wrote a post in an LJ community on why people ship Neuro and Yako when all Neuro does is smash her head against walls and ceilings, down her in gas and make her balance a candle on her head and use her as his chair/mop. After reading more of the manga (I’m on volume 12 now) something occured to me: Neuro and Yako are almost like Hamel and Flute from the Violinist of Hameln. You got the hero, who’s a monster (or half monster) who finds a plain old girl and forces her somehow to follow along with what he’s doing. In the meantime he abuses her in a gag kind of manner (Flute Missile anyone?) but near the end it’s because of the girl is the hero able to conquer his final foes.
Needless to say I feel Yako will play an important part to Neuro near the end, similarly to like she did in the HAL arc. But even if NeuYako is my fannon, I’m down with it. The other fanarts I’ve seen are so freaking adorable that it’s enough to convince me to support this pairing.
And on a note of fanart, here’s a 描いてみた Part II:
Also to my Japanese visitors: 「
P.S. The Hameln I’m referring to is the manga, the anime sucks terribly. Good luck trying to find copies of it though - it’s forever out of print.
P.P.S. Holy shit there’s a sequel to this now? Must buy!
