Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro - 20
So I
am up to chapter 133 of the Neuro manga which means this is the first episode I’ve watched where I’ve read the manga before hand. And let me tell you, what a sinking feeling it is when you know what’s been cut out and the disappointment is probably equivalent to my disappointment with Shugo Chara. They generally followed the story but I guess in order to fit everything in, they had to cut things out. One thing that the Neuro anime does, which the manga often doesn’t, is it pretty much throws characters out. So the Yuka girl, from the arc with Sai fighting Neuro, you haven’t seen her since, same with Aya. In the manga however, Yako often goes to Aya for advice and sometimes to Yuka for help as well. Needless to say, in this episode she made no appearance.
In the manga, the entire point of this arc was: Neuro and Yako’s office needed some new furniture since it was pretty much destroyed after the HAL arc. Why it magically rebuilt itself never got covered in the anime so they probably just have you assume that Neuro used some sort of magic tool to do it. So what Yako did is go to Yuka to ask her for a desk but since she had nothing that Yako needed (Neuro asked for a really bizarre desk which was actually funny but oh well :/) Yuka recommended that Yako visit that furniture store run by Tooru.
At the furniture store, Tooru suggests a cheap desk, which is basically the one that’s mentioned in this episode. He then tells her that it’s a “cursed desk” and tells her how people have died in it. The anime decided to actually start WITH the desk, and make it seem like Sai was responsible by having Sai’s spirit walking around and scaring Yako. The only inference I can make from that, is perhaps they want to conclude the anime series on Sai’s story ?_?
Anyway the rest of the episode pretty much followed suit. Again the only thing that made me sad is they skipped all the jokes that Tooru liked sitting on women and how he always begged Yuka (and even offered her money) for her to be his table/chair lol.
At least they kept the scene with Yako getting ramen thrown into her face, as well as the scene where she goes “Hannin wa omae..” and Neuro baps her with “..janai soudesu!”
Also the “it’s not YOU that smells..well I mean normally you smell but…anyway” XDDD
As I watched the episode I could see the GRAVE differences between manga Yako and anime Yako. It’s something I never really noticed until I was able to compare similar scenes of the manga that I read with the anime. In the anime she is so much more caring of Neuro, and simultaneously Neuro is a lot less abusive. I can already point out 1 scene where in the manga Neuro was supposed to grab her by the head and take her away, while in the anime he just said “let’s go” and Yako promptly followed. It’s not really a bad thing (NeuYako ftw!) but it becomes a lot more noticeable now that I’ve read far ahead.
Upcoming Attractions: Looks like they’re doing the erojiji and yandere loli arc. I guess they don’t need too many episodes on the Sai arc? ![]()

Quit making me want to read the manga!
I’m loving the ride of this show. It was a little tacky at parts, but it’s still good all around.
Read the manga! http://www.onemanga.com! THey just posted a shitload of english chapters there today
(although I’m reading it raw)
FURNITURE MAN!!!
Yea he was definitely a character - although for some reason it seemed weirder in the manga
i habe’t been watching the anime… only reading ur blogg cause dun really have time to watch the whole anime… soo u mind telling me wads up wif neuro’s face… since when did he ever put up a cute face like tat…
I dunno but it’s fucking adorable

Just something the animators decided to do I guess
Did you mean next episode? Cause that looked like filler to me, and I think the X arc is coming after it.
If by upcoming attractions you mean “next episode” then yes. The guy in the preview looked like the guy from that erojiji arc (his son)
Ooooh! Thanks for the link. I didn’t even think to check there. That’s where I keep up with Inuyasha.
Neuro reminds me of the male lead in Shinigami Lovers, in the smiling/happy face pic.
