Why I suddenly jumped on the NeuroYako boat.
So a couple weeks ago I wrote a post in an LJ community on why people ship Neuro and Yako when all Neuro does is smash her head against walls and ceilings, down her in gas and make her balance a candle on her head and use her as his chair/mop. After reading more of the manga (I’m on volume 12 now) something occured to me: Neuro and Yako are almost like Hamel and Flute from the Violinist of Hameln. You got the hero, who’s a monster (or half monster) who finds a plain old girl and forces her somehow to follow along with what he’s doing. In the meantime he abuses her in a gag kind of manner (Flute Missile anyone?) but near the end it’s because of the girl is the hero able to conquer his final foes.
Needless to say I feel Yako will play an important part to Neuro near the end, similarly to like she did in the HAL arc. But even if NeuYako is my fannon, I’m down with it. The other fanarts I’ve seen are so freaking adorable that it’s enough to convince me to support this pairing.
And on a note of fanart, here’s a 描いてみた Part II:
Also to my Japanese visitors: 「
P.S. The Hameln I’m referring to is the manga, the anime sucks terribly. Good luck trying to find copies of it though - it’s forever out of print.
P.P.S. Holy shit there’s a sequel to this now? Must buy! ![]()

I’ve never stopped watching Neuro though. Strangely, not particularly good show though.
The anime is kinda weird and out of order - the manga is a lot better.
hino… forgive me stupidity but do u mind telling me what programm u use at the starting of the video?? the outline tracing one…
I was using Paint Tool SAI
Hi, I’m a Japanese man. Let me explain it.
Japanese are basically polite people, but they are not on internet.
Like American 4chan, most of bbs and blog have anonymous system in Japan.
The anonymous system makes people impolite.
I heard that American fanart world is full of praise.
But things are different in Japan.
You know Japan is the center of manga world.
There are many many amateur critics of manga.
They criticize every single manga drawing.
It doesn’t matter the artist is amateur or professional.
Moreover, many Japanese nico nico douga users are teens.
They are too young and stupid to think about the feeling of others.
what momoi says is true the other way around as well. The outsiders always have praise only (okay, most of them) but the locals are just critics. Take the gurren lagaan episode 4 fiasco as prime example. Then take Hollywood as prime example #2. The locals to the art are always the biggest critics.
Digi> Yea I guess that’s true - but I didn’t think for “non professional work” people would care to criticize ya know?
momoi> 説明ありがとうございました。「なるほど」って感じがします。
Don’t mind the trolls on Nico- I always like you’re art, and momoi is totally correct
I’ve been enjoying the anime series. It’s just that the subbers are pretty slow..probably due to the fact that it is just not that popular…so far they are on episode 10. I just can’t wait for the rest to come in! And everyone is saying the manga is really good. I wouldn’t mind trying to get some. I just got to know where to look though…and see if I can get it here in Vegas.
There is a saying: There’s a critic for everything.
You’re brilliance knows no limit!
Honey, you’ve been given a gift, don’t let anyone take it away.
Dando008 for me is the opposite ive been reading the manga, and i want to see the anime but just like you said almost nobody is doing it and thats a problem, but for me the manga is enough.
