Naruto -Shippuuden- 267 and Chapter 389
So since you guys seem to like the combo-post idea I decided to roll with it. So this week in the Anime world, Yamato gives Sakura & Naruto some drugs and they infiltrate Orochimaru’s base. Sai also gets to meet Sasuke and gets scared out of his pants.
The episode basically ended where Sai is looking through his book of “people to kill” and one of them of course being Sasuke.
Next week Yamato’s team will break into his room, and escape with him all before Kabuto comes back to pick up his forgotten packet. Lol. Speed of light! Too bad this quick scene will probably take an entire episode. I doubt we’ll see Sasuke until maybe 269 or 270 at this rate. Or you can just as easily watch the first shippuuden episode to know what will happen anyway! 
Moving on. This week in the Manga world, Itachi and Sasuke decided that a staring contest for 5 chapters just wasn’t cutting it, so they decided to flame each other.
To make it more interesting though at least we saw some sort of a fight between Sasuke & Itachi and it showed that when using Amaterasu Itachi’s vision worsened.
It was kinda lame for Sasuke to use that giant shuriken thing though. I mean what is this, the Zabuza arc? You’d think considering how far he came, he’d be able to pull a new jutsu out of his butt. Then again it seems every jutsu Naruto does revolves around the rasengan anyway. 
I picked volume 41 the other day which basically has the Jiraiya vs. Pain fight. Haven’t read through it yet, not as motivated since I know what happens. 
After having 41 volumes (thankfully some I bought used and some I have as digital scans) I’m not sure if it’s worth to continue purchasing especially since I read it weekly. This may very well be my last volume that I purchase. It’s just not worth it anymore.

Can naruto do the rasengan one-handed yet or is he still making his clones do all the work?
It seems as if the manga is almost taking a cue from the anime…
If you have ever heard of the American song “Crank Dat [Long list of Crank Dats that will spam your website]” They have a one for the rasengan too…
But aside from that…. Im glad you finnally thought soo its not worth it any more I mean even one-shots doo a better job than this manga is doing…
how to end it… that’s an interesting topic in and of itself! I should do a summarized fanfic just for grins… Then again, maybe not.
I’m not so sure Sai was scared when Sasuke did the genjutsu on him - more like VERY surprised and “disturbed” (like when you play google seppuku and actually find a graphic to which you say “I will NEVER do this AGAIN”). I guess Sai just doesn’t like remembering any of that ‘disturbing’ stuff he keeps hidden away in his psyche.

I thought I read somewhere that Kishimoto already had a plan for an ending and now he’s just trying to pad the inbetween?

It’s even worse than you imagine - Naruto needs TWO clones to do his new Rasengan! It’s especially annoying that he still needs clones considering that at the end of Part 1 he did a rasengan with one hand (though he was in 1 tail mode at the time). The only good thing about this fight is that the world will be less one Uchiha at the end.
As for the anime episode, at least the obligatory useless flashback went back to something that occured, real world time, about 2 months ago. Of course we wouldn’t need flashbacks to stuff that happened, anime time, 1 or 2 days ago, if we didn’t have all these stupid obligatory flashbacks. The seed eating scene was also slow as hell. With all the staring at the seeds, they managed to cover about 1 manga panel per 2 minutes by my rough estimate.
The really sad thing is that with proper pacing, Naruto Shippuden could be excellent. Right now, 47 episodes in, we should be somewhere around the Zombie Twins 1st arc, instead of this Sai stuff that should have been over a long time ago. Looking at future episode names, the scene from Ep1 won’t be coming until episode 51. That’s 4 freaking episodes to cover 6 manga chapters.

I’m still digging the manga; but I didn’t watch the anime until this morning and only because I had to enchiladas and have some spare time.
I thought I was the only one that noticed the Zabuza nod. Apparently it was the highest rated arc in the US so far and the best selling toys. Regardless, I’m missing the Naruto focus in the manga.
I agree Hinano. You should stop buying them and maybe read up on them online. Since it’s a weekly thing and given it’s less-than-stellar quality, you should save the money.
