H2O ~Sisters in the Sand~ - 07

Wow this week was pretty soul rocking too. Jokes and bad animation aside, the actual story line is pretty good. It’s a shame it was wasted on such a shitty animation budget/perhaps a not so good studio. As I had predicted a few minutes into the show, Hinata did take on her dead sister’s name and her real name is Hotaru. (Boy this post is gonna get confusing now.) I just couldn’t figure out why she took on her name.

Well turns out she was the sister the adults “didn’t want” so when (the real) Hinata died, her grandpa said “no one must know about this, we’ll just pretend Hotaru died, and you will now live as Hinata!” So poor Hotaru agreed to do this but because of this she’s been guilt driven all her life and hence her “ruined” friendship with Hayami. Hotaru also liked drawing picture books and one book she drew was about a fairy named Otoha who visited a prince. Basically her picture book tells the story of how Otoha, which as I guessed is the ghost of Hinata (Hotaru’s sister - is anyone confused yet?), goes and I guess unblinds Hirose.

At the end of the episode, Hotaru decides to tell everyone in class that her name is Hotaru. Everyone’s like “wut aren’t you Hinata?” but in the end they all call her Hotaru-chan for no apparent reason. I love how events in this anime progress with no reasoning behind them. “What Hirose can see now? Alrighty then! Let’s move on! No big deal!”

P.S. No there isn’t really any Hamaji in this episode you can skip it now. :roll:

    I kinda figured that Otoha (or the real Hinata) and Hinata (now Hotaru) were related some how in the earlier episodes. :neutral:

    I don’t know if anyone saw a scene when Hotaru was imagining her friends cheering her on and the very end Hayami appeared, which I am still leaning towards yuri, but I might be wrong.

    I wish that the old geezer was the one who drowned instead of Hinata to put him out of his misery, Telling by his face, I REALLY hate that old bag. :mad:

    argg.. i slap myself too hard on the face :mad: how could i had not notice -.-… i saw hinata’s dead sister’s picture (the real hinata) like 4 or 5 times and i notice the hair style was same as otoha’s but it never occure to me that otoha was the REAL hinata and hotaru’s sister…. :shock:
    seriously if i was hotaru i would had juz own tat old hag’s ass and send him flying

    Im realy pleased it turned out this way because it could have been worst… i saw it coming too but was like “nawww this story isnt gonna go that deep on the ‘emo’ scale” but it did anyway and it was good~

    the sister thing was a given considering the amount of pics lying around but the switcharoo was a surprise so im well well happy with the execution of it all!

    I thought Hamaji wanting Takuma to grab his nonexistent boobs was pretty significant trapservice in this ep.

    Significant Hamaji is at least 1 minute worth of Hamaji in cute clothes.
