Naruto -Shippuuden- 266 and Chapter 388
So because I find the manga story to be a lot more interesting I figured I’d do some sort of combination posts so that I can at least discuss the differences between both and still talk about each one. Scrolling through the episode was an incredibly wonderful idea which allowed me to gracefully fly past scenes of whooshing leaves, stupid flashbacks and constant staring.
The episode ended here:
Where Sasuke finally shows up in Shippuuden again. Man I remember when this chapter came out the Narutofan forums exploded with everyone going OMGZ SASOOKE IS BACK akjfhjfhlakjfhakjfh131111111;;11! If I’m not wrong this is around chapter 299-300. Looks like next week Yamato-team will infiltrate Oro’s hideout.
Meanwhile back at the ranch Itachi is pulling Sasuke’s eyeballs out:
….Just kidding! Looks like it was another genjutsu! hur hur hur!
I feel like the manga is stuck in one big genjutsu pancake. I mean the last 6 chapters were just genjutsu on top of genjutsu. It was cool….the first 3 times. Now it’s like can we see some REAL fighting? Enough with this genjutsu. It’s like is that all Itachi can do? “LOOK INTO MY EYES~~” What is he Medusa or something? 
I mean at this rate, why doesn’t Sasuke use his super snake jutsu and just beat the shit out of him. I don’t know what the hell this Amaterasu crap is that Itachi plans to use next chapter, but my guess is we’re getting another genjutsu pancake to add to our stack.
Anyone got extra maple syrup?

For such a hyped-up, long-awaited fight, it really is boring so far.
Not to mention the disappointment that Itachi really is apparently just another megalomaniac. I was hoping for a little more depth.
The worst part of the chapter was the Picasso-esque genjutsu breaking sequence. I mean seriously, THREE PAGES wasted on that.
(And the Amaterasu is some sort of legendary fire attack that only Uchihas can use)
Amaterasu is that black flame crap itachi used way back when. Jiraiya sealed up the flame or something
oh that thing. man I forgot. Itachi is weak lol. As much as I hate Superman Sasuke, 1 less Uchiha could do wonders for this series.
Wasn’t Amateratsu the technique that Itachi used to escape from Jirayas frog belly? The one with the black flames that Jiraya had to seal.

I love the combo post as well. Hopefully it will keep you interested in posting about this show. You have only had 1 excited post since Saukrua and Chiyo had their battle with Sassy. And that was LONG ago.
I’m still not bored with the Uchiha Wonder Twins, but I would like to progress a little. Like where that Toad went after Jiraiya died, and where are Naruto and Hinata & the others, and what’s Tsunade going to do if/when she finds out about Jiraiya? What’s Ten-ten up to? All that good stuff.
I have a feeling that Tsunade won’t be around that long.
Mostly being influenced by Naruto board posts; but you never know.
I also would like to see Hebi animated. I have a feeling this season of Naruto will end with the team in Orochimaru’s lair and the next season will begin and drag on from the same place. Those better be some cool snake effects.

Hopefully now that Sasuke threw off Tsukuyomi that means they are going to finally open up the non-genjutsu portion of the fight. Still no sign of a Naruto-centric scene in sight….
Shippuden still sucks. The last three episodes would have been great if they had been compressed into 1 episode with all flashbacks and boring filler scenes removed.
OMFG can you imagine when the anime gets to this last chapters, Genjustsu + endless flashbacks + staring contest

Genjetsu techniques would be incredibly useful if the naruto world didn’t require each character to explain each and every one of their actions. However seeing as this is ninja law genjetsu, is simply a waste of pages and frames, it’s the Tenten of techniques.

Bummer - I like Tenten, but her personality and goals are so 1-dimensional, “being the best konoichi / like Tsudane”. I guess ‘wallpaper’ characters are like that (yeah, poor Tenten).
New ‘combined’ format is a good idea. It looks like “filler” for both the anime AND the manga for a while, so you can save a bit of time and bandwidth that way.

Naruto manga wise right now is starting to remind me of Inuyasha….
The manga hasnt ended yet you know at 46 mangas strong….Wouldnt you go broke after buying THAT much of a manga that doesnt want to end…Yes Naruto seems to bee taking that course….

Well one thing Naruto has over Inuyasha is that they aren’t still fighting Zabuza. Of course, one thing Inuyasha has over Naruto is that Inuyasha is actually involved in his own manga.
John> Good points! LOL - you don’t see Miroku or whoever taking over the manga’s role, but on the other hand, at least the Naruto side has defeated a good number of Akatsuki members, rather than still fighting Orochimaru or Zabuza
I’m hoping that they kill eachother. I’ve had enough of both of the Uchiha drama queens. XP Sasuke was great in the first season, but now he’s a totally different character…
When I watched that scene in the manga I was “LOL Tsubasa Chronicle” for a moment XD.
