On the topic of missing in action..

I haven’t been MIA it’s just frankly NOTHING has aired. If you look at my blogging schedule it’s spread out in a weird way so I have a mass flood on Thursday & Saturday with some leakages on Friday. The other days are dry as a bone. I haven’t had any filler posts to make in the meantime - well I could have - but I took my frustration elsewhere. So on the topic of missing in action I decided to go through my blogroll - specifically the blogs I have listed who are missing in action - temporarily or permanently. The big list after the jump!
Anime Life - So actually Scott was around a lot when I first started blogging. Hell both of us were on anime blogger.net. He then did the fancy thing and got himself a domain name…but that was to be of no use because I haven’t seen anything on that domain name since September of last year. Guess real life got the best of him?
Picture Perfect Paranoia - Ronin used to be an avid fan of the Anime Nano Podcast (before its demise) and we used to talk often between blogs but real life got the best of him (mostly school I think) and the only thing I see him updating actively is his live journal - with news about the real world - rather than say ADV’s venture into bankruptcy.
Strangely Common Anime Blog - This guy was the first guy to ever comment on my blog!! So he shall forever remain speshul in my heart. He was around when I first brought this blog to life and it was good to be able to bounce back on comments with him cause at the time I barely got any
But yea real life also stole him away so his blog is RIP.
TsunTsun - Marmot’s blog was awesome but short lived. Last thing on there is her victorious cry after the nice boat incident. Actually she’s not dead, I think she still writes sometimes for Pinku Bento Box and comes over here to comment XD;; I love her writing style, we need more angry women bloggers, that’s the funniest thing to read. I’m glad someone else is still going strong though.
typenights - this blog was only around for about 6 months before it kicked the bucket. The Bampoo Blade musta did them in because that was the last post we ever saw. Can’t say much about this person because we just exchanged links but didn’t really get to know each other.
Whai Whai’s Anime Blog - Helspectre actually comes by here often and comments but his blog is RIP. He’s too busy with real life and after that Odex thing I think he’s just being on the safe side of things. We actually started our blogs on animeblogger within a week of each other so it was cool to have a fellow blogger noobie to talk to xD.
Wrex’s Anime Whirls - Wrex is a gaijin living in Japan. I remember his blog mostly for all those “JPEG Orgy” posts he did where he took a ton of photos of his R2 DVDs. He was going pretty strong in summer of 06 but as 2007 went by he sorta dropped off the face of the blogosphere. He was last seen talking about the finale of Claymore - which also ended up being the finale of his blogging.
過労死 - Karoshi. Sadly the domain for this has expired so Os’s blog is no longer around. He used to be really updatey (kinda how THAT blog is now) and we even hung out at Otakon 2006. But yea his writers dropped off the face of the earth and he had real life stuff that was more important. After Otakon 2007 he hadn’t posted since. I’d say he’s gone from anime but I recently found him lurking on MyAnimeList.
So yea that’s my list of those who have left the anime blogging world. It’s sad to see sometimes a blogger you’ve known for a while decides to quit the hobby but I am glad to see there’s still some blogs still going strong that were around when I joined this whole shabang. Here’s to longevity of anime blogs!

Hah you are much kinder than me. Over winter break I went through our blogroll and summarily deleted anyone that hadn’t posted within the last two months. Then again we had a bloated blogroll, most of which I had never heard of. I probably purged at least 10 blogs, I think Impz is probably just too nice.
I also purge the blogroll, though there is usual a probationary “do not display” section of blogs that I really like but that don’t ever update. I just think it’s a disservice to those who actually use the blogroll to keep around a bunch of blogs that never update.
This entry definitely brings back memories. Doesn’t every blogger have a special connection with the bloggers that came up at the same time as him/her?
I would say the reason I’ve not written anything on my blog (AnimeLife) is because I ran out of blogging juice. Nothing really in life got in the way I just got bored. I know that’s a crappy excuse but that is the way it is.
Hopefully, I will return to blogging someday.
I personally thought you had gone all “runaway bride” but it’s nice to know you’re still around.
I’ve never attempted to blog, it’s hard enough just to comment. But it is very sad/annoying when you like a blog and it goes away. Mostly because of laziness. I have a friend that did a reality show blog and kept posting that he was “busy in real life” when in fact his lazy but was playing XBOX with my boyfriend and a few hundred other geeks online! (myself included).
Ok need to think up a new name…
Damnit I seriously didn’t expect someone in anime fandom to actually use the same random large rodent as a username.
Ok the squirrels wikipedia page has led me to Ratufinae (an oriental giant squirrel) so thats who Ill be (I’ll accept other rodent name suggestions while I’m still trying to remember how it’s spelt).
Anyway it is a little depressing how things can just end and disappear on the internet, makes me feel lonely, then again that’s probably more caused by finishing the fruits basket manga, those guys really need to cheer up…
marmot> oh! A different marmot. I guess the blogger marmot really is missing in action @_@;
Sabrina> I put my wedding thoughts aside as I prepare myself for anime boston. I got a sewing machine so I could sew parts of my costumes
scott> Ah well that’s a good reason. It’s just a hobby and all hobbies come to an end.
Kabitzin/Calawain> I don’t have that big of a blogroll but yea I guess I might as well delete them huh?
I think if my Japan trip got extended from weeks, to months, to years… I might have gone extinct from the blogging world too. Those weeks marked our blog’s “Twilight Stage” o___O
more power to you, Hinano, and to all the other ones who are still filled with the blogging spirit! \o/
Yeah because I can’t remember what the new name was I think I’ll stick with this one unless I come across something simple and pleasant. Sorry I’m not a blogger, nor a woman, nor particularly angry but it was a compliment that my short little posts could come across as such.
You never know, in the future I could become all three
All 3 lol @_@ Osmosis! XD
jen> whats a twilight stage? XD
Oh yea, I was like sooo sad to see those other blogs go ^^;;

I have to pester my bf to update his blog all the time!
As a cute 16-year old Singaporean girl, I bet I’d be popular if I started a blog!
I wonder if anybody else uses DS as a name! Lol
That joke fails because I have the flag plugin
Speaking of which, my blogroll needs cleansing, purging and killing.
I’ll just drop a squad of Space Marines to do the job
btw… why pangya? ahah XD
loool @ “DS”
Hinano> hehe, it’s just something I coined, to refer to those weeks when I went on a little “blog hiatus”… blogging halfheartedly, neglecting the series I’m supposed to be blogging and stuff .___.;;; detached from the blog, and the blogosphere as well.
I’m just glad I got back somehow
[...] Hinano: So yea that’s my list of those who have left the anime blogging world. It’s sad to see [...]
I’ve been pretty quiet thanks to having this shiny computer occupy my thoughts (speaking of Pangya, it runs way better on this machine, I might start playing on desktop again)…
im kinda sick of pangya after seeing how much better the korean and japanese updates are. ill only play when there’sa worthy update or some sort of good event. in january every event was a piece of crap.
I play for fun, not for events really. The lag between different servers getting stuff is the same as the lag between the server’s original start date. Korea was the first server, and Japan opened before A18 did, so of course they both have newer updates…
Of course, some things never make it over (A18 has had HG’s hat and glasses for almost a year but for obvious reasons will probably not get the rest).
Get AIM or MSN or something so I can poke you to get on when I’m on. =p
eh I never use aim or msn lol :S
Good time to start again! =p
oh well, i cant go back to jp server since they block foreign ips =(
a18 is just behind on updates =p
also… 3000 yen for 400 or so credits is quite cheap.
i cant say the same for USD prices. that`s why it sucks elsewhere.

lol on topic> people stoping and starting eheh i would write something about anime too, but starting a page, messing with html or whatsoever… nah
but it kinda sucks, 10 months ago, the blogs i used to visit are not the same now =(
yea I think some people have really changed ever since they recruited like 10 other ppl on their blog XD
