In otherwords, they get my creative juices (or bowels?) moving! So the last few weeks I’ve been mulling over whether or not to do a doujinshi for next year. I first said “I’ll do Ouran!” then I got all uninspired and didn’t really wanna do it anymore then the thought of a malfunctioning manga studio (hooray for missing strokes!) and the fact that I still have leftover doujins made me say “screw it” to the whole thing.

Well lo and behold I got bored and decided to check out some Haruhi Fanfiction! You know most fanfics are written horribly, make no sense, use awful grammar or are bursting with mary sues in every corner…however there were a few good Haruhi x Kyon ones that made me all moeeee 8D;. (And no it didn’t involve anyone breaking anyone’s barriers or placing themselves at any entrances. )

Anyway I read some pretty damn good ones and everytime I read these things I get the sudden urge to draw. It may seem incredibly ridiculous but fanfics ARE inspiring to me when I have a complete art block or I’ve given up something. Fanworks alone can inspire me to believe in something that is completely out of cannon from the story or makes the characters OOC beyond belief.

I stumbled onto a Neuro site a couple weeks ago which was centralized on coupling Neuro with Yako. While watching the anime I never even imagined pairing them up, but after seeing this person’s artwork, I was like OMG neuroxyako :D!!

I wasn’t that inspired to do any HaruKyon doujins anymore because let’s face it, the anime ended over a year and a half ago and even though a season 2 is coming, at this point we’re sorta in limbo other than character songs, figures and Hatsune Miku covers of Hare Hare Yuukai. But then I read the fanfics and saw some Japanese fanart sites and was like *3*! I know it’s kinda silly that someone’s fanwork inspires me but I guess it’s a sense of feeling “hey you know, I’m not the only one who supports this pairing”. It’s like that psychology thing when reinforcing something makes you like it (although constant reinforcement of Naruhina and Sasusaku doesn’t make me like it more, it makes me wanna draw more Narusaku to oppose it but I digress lol.)

So in conclusion, I will try the MangaStudio fix with Vista and if indeed it does work, I did do a short plan for a Haruhi doujin. This afternoon I came up with a “doujin level retarded” title for it: DereDere Sakusen ;D. Let’s hope that this idea goes beyond this post and I have something else to sell at whatever next convention I go to.
