Alright so I really enjoyed the ending of this series a lot more than Yukan Club. I guess I’m biased because I work at a Japanese company and I can relate to some of the retarded crap that went on in the show. Also I’m an old fart so any work drama I can relate to I’d probably enjoy. The only thing that I wish they had was some romance between Hiroko and Tanaka, but I guess I’ll take what I can get with the “I like…the you that’s so disorganized and hard working” or whatever he said.

Since it’s the last episode I guess I’ll do a summary. Basically Hiro has 3 things on her table right now. Either go with Shinji and start a new life in Fukuoka, stay at Jidai and continue being a hatarakiman, or go to a new company called “SPEAK” and be the chief editor (or whatever DESK position means) of a popular woman’s magazine. I knew she wouldn’t pick Shinji because he’s a) the ex, and b) less important than her work lol.

Everyone at her current job finds out, and in Japan they tell her “do what your heart desires” but if this happened in America she’d be out the door fired for even trying to look for another job So basically she’s on this case of a “perverted teacher” but it turns out he was framed (what a surprise there) by some college slut claiming that he groped her on the train. (Isn’t that always the case? ) Hiroko tries to tell everyone that he’s innocent but nobody believes her, so hurt, she goes to take the interview at SPEAK.

While there she gets a call from JIDAI telling her that she was right because Tanaka had found out through one of his stories that the girl has cheated men out of money multiple times. Anyway due to this Hiroko apologizes to SPEAK interview group (there’s like 8 of them wtf is wrong with Japanese Human Resources??) and leaves. She then finishes the case and proves the teacher innocent in the magazine. She also manages to run to the airport to say her last goodbyes to Shinji. Meh, that scene was pointless to me.

She tells her bosses that her dream is to make JIDAI as big as SPEAK. So yea I guess she’ll stay with the company, lol I woulda taken the other job, but I’m not Japanese. Overall I enjoyed the series, I didn’t even bother watching the anime because stories like these just don’t get through to me in anime form. I guess I’m becoming an old fart, but I’ve been enjoying jdramas for like 3 years now and there’s just some things that I find more enjoyable in real actor form rather than anime form. Because let’s face it, I couldn’t care less that anime Hiroko has “really big boobs”.
