Doujinshi Dilemma.
So now that I’m ready to battle the rest of the artists to get a space in the artist alleys of 2008 I have to start thinking about what my next doujin project will be. The other day I posted on deviantart saying I’m gonna do something about Tamaki and Haruhi from Ouran because let’s face it the manga is finally shipping them (yay!) But today I’m browsing Nogami Neuro stuff and there seems to be a heavy shipment of Neuro x Yako. Now so far the anime doesn’t give me any hints besides Yako being his abuse bag but the anime appears to have jumbled up the manga and added original filler according to everyone’s comments here.
So I’ll be reading more of the manga now and what if while starting the Ouran doujin I suddenly go “damn I wish I drew that NeuroxYako one after all! NOO!” I gotta come up with a decision fast because printers are so crappy these days you gotta give them like a month to get all this crap done for you and then I need like another month to draw and well I only have about 3 months until the first con of 2008 that i wanna go to. *insert a Pedro type NOOOO in here*
Then you look at it from a sales point of view…most likely Ouran would sell because let’s face it, it’s the rage amongst yaoi and non-yaoi fangirls while Neuro has a “selective” audience, or rather an audience located only in Japan. So then I thought about doing something Haruhi x Kyon, which would make either Haruhi or Kyon incredibly OOC (but it’s all good right?). But then I think how there’s a gajillion Haruhi doujins out there, so why would someone want my non porny OOC one, when they can just buy a porny Tsundere Haruhi one (when she later “gets what she deserves” if you get my drift.)
So now I have to look at it really from a what I want to do combined with what will sell and I’m finding myself going in circles. In otherwords, help me make a decision!! 
(And I need to decide fast @_@;)

Ouran ^_^.
Ouran looks like the best bet.
However, a good, romantic Haruhi non-h doujinshi (with a nice cover depicting Kyon and Haruhi in a sexy embrace) could sell well; there is a lot of “sick people” out there interested only in seeing Haruhi acting less like a bitch and more like a girl in love. And any OOC-ness can be explained through Haruhi’s hax.
I would personally love to see a Yuuichi x Nayuki non-h doujinshi, even though I really don’t know much about them.
It’s the one h-show I’ve ever watched where I really… really wanted one pairing more than any of the others.
I think you should take advantage of the hordes of J.C.Staff fanboys out there and choose a J.C.Staff show. If you want Yuji and Shana to just end up together already, or you want Mao to choose Eiji over Kouichi, you can do something about it. And there’s so many ways to fix up The Familiar of Zero, you’d have a hard time choosing. I would like a Potemayo story with Mikan and Sunao, but you might not enjoy drawing it.

Ya if you’re looking at this from a business perspective…Ouran’s the best way to go. Face it, there’s a TON of fangirls who adore Ouran and are more likely to spend the $$$ as compared to like the 3 people that might have heard of Neuro. Also, a lot of people like Yuki x Kyon (EWWW) if you were up for the Haruhi route.
If you wanted to go a little more clever, how about Haruhi (Suzumiya) x Haruhi (Fujioka)?

Ouran and SOS-dan cross-over?!
Think about it Haruhi and Tamaki can try and out-queen one another while Kyon and Other Haruhi sigh forlornly in the background. Then Mori and Yuki can try to out-quiet one another. HILARITY ENSUES.
Also, I second who ever nominated a Saki/Madarame comic. My roommate it also an avid lover of the pair and I KNOW there most be plenty more like-minded souls out there…

I saw your books at Manga Next, and I like your art, but I dislike Naruto, but if you did Ouran, I’d buy it for sure ^^
gasp! How could you not know the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi! XD It came out the same time as Ouran in Japan. But yea I definitely wanna try Tamaki x Haruhi in the future but perhaps towards the end of 2008
