Didn’t I tell you Kotomi was going to be annoying? Everything she says and does is annoying. Her only redeeming quality is she has big boobs for the boys, and her tsukkomi is so stupid it actually amuses me. I hate everything else about her, including the fact that she’s voiced by Mamiko Noto doing “THAT” type of role.
Also, her horrible violin playing is horrible. It does not and will not get better, ever so don’t get your hopes up. KotomiCHYAN aside, is anyone else picking up on Kyo trying to get Ryo and Tomoya together - and completely failing? If you haven’t caught this, I’d suggest you start paying more attention to it as it is relevant to Kyo’s story - which I am still incredibly curious how they are going to handle. It’s like a stand alone story so they’ll have to be pretty creative to weave it in without disrupting everything else. Similarly with Kanon, they are involving Nagisa in every girl’s story even though she wasn’t this much involved in the game. Ah well they’re doing a pretty good job so far so I have no beef.

At the risk of invoking the despite of this blog’s respectable writer, I LOVED Kotomi; she just oozes moé and win and ijimekko.
But keep her away from a violin.
Man, my ears are STILL ringing after Kotomi played the violin! That was more than the word “horrible”, which I can’t find its proper word to describe that scene.

About Kyo, I think she started in episode 9 when she invited Tomoya to go shopping with her and Ryo. Of course he turned it down because of the wedding, but I bet she was planning the hookup during that time.
Kyo is my favorite, so I hope they show a LOT of her even though her arc isn’t till next year.
She’s pretty cool imo. Just too damn quiet. How about going right up her alley XD XD.
Well, despite the fact that my opinion of Kotomi is currently pretty low, the fact that I didn’t particularly like Fuko didn’t stop me from enjoying the previous arc so hopefully Kotomi’s arc will be decent too. In fact if they involve the twins into Kotomi’s story I won’t complain the least.
Coincidentally, I’ve been meaning to ask you Hinano, have you ever played/watched Air? What do you think of it?

One more question for Hinano; I hear rumors about Clannad being more than 24 episodes (KyoAni’s max episode count to date). Since you have played the game, just how far is the anime in the storyline? I mean, do you think 24 episodes would be enough? Thanks in advance.

I thought this ep. was pretty sleep inducing. The start to Fuuko’s arc was way better then this one imo. Kotomi’s “moeness” fails on me. (but moe in general doesn’t exist for me) “ijimekko” :/
Well. I would rate this ep a 6 out of a 10. I hope the arc will pick up because so far it was uninteresting. (prays for 3 eps to finish the arc)
It is obvious that Kotomi has Asperger’s Syndrome, so she can be classified as High-Functioning Autistic person. My son is autistic, and it would be a dream come true if my son can do half the things Kotomi does. If you find Kotomi annoying, I guess you have hard time being around epople with autism, which is understandable, since any social interaction with autistic person is a challenge.

I adore Kotomi, and although I’m sad you don’t care for her, I kind of hope that the fact that I’m (thus far) a Kotomi fanboy kills you a little on the inside.
(I haven’t watched episode 10 yet or played the game, so we’ll see how my impression changes. If not, I’ll have fun speculating why you hate her.)
maglor> I don’t know what she has, but as far as the game goes, she’s not mentally ill, she’s just a sad and pitiful lonely child. I don’t compare her to autistic children because they can’t help themselves, while she does eventually improve but at the beginning her mannerisms (and the fact that her whole personality is based on moe only) annoys me to no end. I think I’m like Kyou, I just do things fast and it’s hard for me to keep DOWN with people who can’t keep UP with me XD
Not to mention that Hinano’s hobby, like Kyou, is bullying weak people. :p

After fuuko’s arc, anything is ok. Yes, i like moe stuff such as ijimeko. It can be a bit too much, but hey, anything is better than being retarded. I take that gladly as a change =3
I am pretty much like Kotomi in the gettinf new friends departament (so thats why I am here on the net commenting anime instead of some date) and I can much sympathize with her… I also was spending lots of time in the library and ended high school ihn the top 5 of the year
