Manga Review: Sumomomo Momomo Vol. 8
Been a while 
since I did a post on this right? I was reading the manga well into the show and after the anime ended abruptly (on a disappointing number may I add - I mean 22 wtf?) I sorta kept on with the manga chapters. (I missed ch. 54 though but anyway) I was at Kinokuniya and since Shugo Chara vol 5 was not yet available I gave into my temptations and bought volume 8. I can never leave Kinokuniya without buying something (●´艸｀).
So anyhoo if you basically ended with the anime here’s a brief catchup. Things between Momoko and Koushi get better and he ignores her less and actually starts to appreciate her a lot more. There’s a couple random arcs (like with the crazy muscly teacher) but most of the focus is on trap-chan who is a girl told to live as a man. (Or at least I think she was told, that or she just wanted her father to appreciate her and be a good budouka so she decided to be the son he never had - I forgot I read this like over a year ago x_X;.) Anyway after all this, volume 8 begins with Koushi deciding officially that he wants to train as a budouka with his father’s help. Continue Reading »
heartwarming episode this week focusing on the graduation of some of the Genshiken members and how everyone is growing up. They discuss how Madarame now got a real job but it’s so close to his college that he didn’t really have to move anywhere. Saki is also jealous of that student council girl because despite being all tough and crap, she gave into Japanese society to get married and not have to work. (Poor Saki, I wonder if Kousaka even has marriage in mind for her?) Also at the end I had a little moment when Madarame said “Oh I was praised” from Saki. Bah. Genshiken - one of the rare animes where I don’t feel the cannon pairing is right (He shoulda ended up with Saki T___T). Also lol @ Ohno’s “Cosplay Club” XD.
watching this episode I watched like 6 series of “I want to see that anime again! 1990s anime ops” videos on NicoNico (which btw is like my new Youtube.) It made me all nostalgic and KITAAA! during stuff like the Mahou Shoujo Pretty Sammy, Kare Kano and Kodocha ops 8D. Also I am amused by that roitsuma tag and all 
Anyway this week’s Neuro was another anime original apparently and it seems like the whole show is slated to be this way for a while (and possibly until the end.) I haven’t read further in the manga but I might do so because we’re now back to “monster of the week”. I really liked last week’s episode and I was hoping we’d see more of that in the future.
no raburabu this week however Renji and Ellis were the main characters of this episode while Akari and Kureha took a backseat. Even Anzelotte got like 3 minutes of screentime if that. Also, I did a 
So this week Ellis has a memory lapse thanks to a greeting cat (jk) and she and Renji get sent to the Tower of Babel! I felt some Nadia deja vu this week. 
drama this week, although it wasn’t as dramatic as I had hoped it would be. A billboard randomly falls on top of Minatsu and Yume, and naturally Yume gets saved Minatsu gets flattened…or not because she’s a ROBOTTO. Now the dorama is “oh noes we all know she’s a robot we have to treat her the same” and “if this gets out she will be put to sleep like old yeller!” I’m having serious doubts that this will be a 12 episode series. I mean they’re getting nowhere and now they’re throwing THIS as their dramatic point? Wasn’t Da Capo supposed to be ultimately shisucon? I don’t see any movement from the Yume side, and Koko is way ahead of everybody else.
goes to the big boys for help. She talks to Irie, Akasaka, Oishi and Tomitake. Now more than 1 person is suspecting Takano, and especially Irie who this time around isn’t thinking “There’s no way she would do such things!” Also I like the whole Keiichi x Satoko teamup where they both say “let’s pretend Rika’s dead, that’ll get em!” I kept thinking they’d like figure out some crazy way to put a fake corpse of her - but that’s mostly my Narutard self thinking of Kabuto and his ability to create fake corpses ^^;. Anyway good to see the plot finally rolling down the hill.
always says that Japan is really expensive and I might agree to an extent - but when I look at a price tag and see both the Yen and USD amounts being miles apart…something just doesn’t add up. Generally the only Japanese “goods” that I buy are manga, however I did buy some clothes at the New York City
