Clannad - 09

And so the Fuuko arc comes to an end. As expected, my eyes got teary during THAT bgm. (I swear you could show me the deaths of Bambi and Mufasa to that BGM and I’d probably cry.) I like the creative turn that KyoAni took to make it seem like Fuuko’s all like “I support the Nagisa end!” In the game Tomoya didn’t call Nagisa by her first name until they officially began dating.

Also nice approach there with the kiss scene…still being able to show it, but making it look like it’s not “special” to Tomoya! *thumbs up*

In the game, the wedding felt less formal, but that could be due to the fact that Koko and Yuusuke are dressed in their normal clothes. Also LOL @ the confused looking Kotomi standing there all by herself during the wedding student gathering XD.

I weeped.

In Fuuko’s ending, she actually wakes up from her coma and asks Tomoya (you the player), the senpai, to go out with her. Actually I’m really confused as to why they made her “the same age as Tomoya” in the anime, when in actuality she was supposed to be like a Freshman or something (at least in her “ghost” state since that’s when she got hit by a car.) Well if things follow the Nagisa after story route (which if you think they won’t you’re gonna have another thought coming) this isn’t the last you’ll see of Fuu-chan.
P.S. Sunohara in a suit = win 8D
Upcoming Attractions: Looks like up next is the Kotomi arc as I predicted. Great! Now we can get my least 2 favorite girls out of the way! (Well I guess I don’t really like Tomoyo’s ending that much, Kotomi’s is better, but Tomoyo isn’t as annoying.) Prepare for a shitload of “ijimekko?”s

I got teary eyed T_T
same here, *almost* started to cry but I held it in… I swear!
“Actually I’m really confused as to why they made her “the same age as Tomoya” in the anime”
Did they say this in this episode? (my japanese is lame at best) It could be because even if Fuuko is stuck in that appearance, enough time has passed for her to be the same age as Tomoya.
The part that really got me was when everyone recognized Fuuko’s sculpt as a starfish ;_;
There is NO NEED to hold it back. *cries*
I also *almost* started to cry, but I didn’t understood at all what they said (since I don’t speak nihongo, but I did understood at common words and by their expression on their faces). The very last scene where Tomoya is dreaming of Fuuko was very touching (*almost* cried, but I held).
And I had no idea that in the anime, Fuuko was of same age as Tomoya. I’ve always thought that Fuuko was way younger than Tomoya and Nagisa because of her child-like appearance and voice.

I teared up when the students attended the wedding, despite forgetting about Fuuko. I cry at happy moments, not sad ones. I’m odd that way.
i freaking went into tears right in the mid of class while watching it secretly.. all my friends tot i was crazy..

Aw can u plz tell me the title of THAT bgm? and yea it sounds 100% peaceful…
Inc3st is the first word that comes to mind when you mention parent-child relationship.
man. I woke up to see the raw completely ready for watching. Watched it and…. ;_____; gosh. seems that I still have a soft heart for these kind of things. man. I cry to easily :’(
and Fuuko…she isn’t as annoying as I first thought she would be. At least when she doesn’t go into her Moe mode….maybe because Fuuko approves of Nagisa x Tomoya XD (j/k)
next up Kotomi arc…let the “ijimekko” comment galore begin… >___>
.about Tomoyo. I bet her arc will be 2nd last before Nagisa’s arc.
Fu-chan, wahhhh T_T
They really brought me around in this one, a couple of my entries on Clannad have expressed a meh feeling about Fuko. She was kinda annoying at times, although it created a lot of humor. I was also afraid it was going to be too much like Ayu/Makoto. But boy did KyoAni prove me wrong, they really emphasized the positive side of her child-like innocence. And the wedding scene where she gave her sister the starfish, I was T_T hardcore. I’m always amazed at how KyoAni just keeps surprising me with amazing storytelling.
@ Lustrous Realm
I think it’s “The Place Where Wishes Come True.”
;^; Fuuko-chan~~!
That is all. *manly tears*
Fuu-chan wanting the Nagisa ending was about my favorite part, so I’m glad they added it. It also to me brings everything together. People complained her story isn’t revelevent to the plot and I think she did bring Tomoya and Nagisa together as her “parents” which was touching.
hm, if my memory isnt bad yet… in the beginning of this arc, it was about making friends at school. but i kinda forgot that until the last scene =p
*thumbs up* kyoani =p
not as powerful as kanon since the character isnt rly dying and i was kinda getting the feeling it would somehow end like that tayaki maniac(waking up some time in the future ). touching but not a tearjerker =p
btw, after watching it: well, lots of episodes of xyz² series to watch. i kinda dont feel like watching any =(
i should have saved it to be the last one of the night =|
@ Calawain
Auuu it’s nt tt one. There’s another one which plays in the background when Tomoya and Nagisa asked the old man who’s painting a banner for the marriage ceremony…
Can someone please tell me the title of that BGM???
Thanks loads… =)
Hi guys, this is Hinano on JP’s computer because I’m too lazy to hook mine up XD
I’ll answer all the BGM questions when I get back on my laptop - I know the Clannad soundtrack inside and out XD
thanks very much!!! =) will be waiting for ur ans haha
I’m pretty sure the BGM you’re looking for is called 空に光る (”sora no hikaru” or “Shining in the Sky”). =)
No, I mean “sora ni hikaru”.
Taiyaki is probably correct, I actually don’t have this BGM cause I didn’t really like it XD
haha yup thanks loads Taiyaki tts the one =)
Ah, I must disagree with berz. At least for the KyoAni Kanon ending with Ayu, I was still iffy on the presentation of Ayu X Yuuichi. I just don’t think the transition into it was very well done, and the way KA managed to achieve a real brother-sister effect with the two was in the end kind of what messed things up.
For me, that weakened the power of the ending.
With Fuuko though, I found the direction and handling of things much more poignant than it was in Kanon–perhaps they learned something, hopefully–and can definitely be worked easily fit in with the other scenarios, without making you feel like Okazaki’s a real monster who systematically gets || close and then leaves them hanging. I really hope the other scenarios are handled as this one was.
Sunohara might not be the total baka he seemed to be… he first realized Fuuko is being forgotten
