Naruto -Shippuuden- 253
So in addition
to the hole in my ceiling, a 2 inch roach ( 4 if you count the antennae - I shit you not it was this big) crawled out of said hole so we had to tape it up. In the next few weeks will be a serious battle between me and the management office (with lawsuit threats and hopefully we can break out) so if anime blogging ceases to exist yea you know why. (But once the dust settles hopefully things will go back to normal.) So anyway this week’s Naruto episode brought back some Nostalgia of Team 8 and Team 10 and added some Hinata filler but back in my fangirly mind, KibaHina footage ftw! Also the Gai running with Kakashi on his back actually made me laugh.

I haven’t seen this yet, but I’m liking the looks of things. I keep thinking Kiba’s father is a dog… Hopefully one day that will be cleared up.
My mind may be lacking, but in the manga, this is the only time you see this bunch in a storyline until what’s going on now with Sauske, right? I know Shika, Ino, & Chouji have the “cigarette” stuff but some “deer” stuff but Kiba, Hinata, & Shino basically go Gaara for the next few years. Jesus this show is long!
I told you New York has some big ass roaches. And you have to count the antenna into the length. It’s part of their filthy body, it counts. I told you I saw one that was 6″ (antenna included) at the US Open.
I hope your apartment battle goes well. In New York it is a sad fact that you can only settle things like this legally. Or at least with legal threat. Or Karate, but that can get you arrested.
Reminds me of when I lived in a not-so-nice neighborhood and my apartment was infested with roaches. They were out in the day (sign of overpopulation from what I heard). But management was nice enough to let me go because I was never a trouble-maker, so I never paid extra to leave 4 months early, and then they even paid me back the security. So I can’t actually complain that much even though it was still a dump.
A couple bits of advice:
- Before you decide to leave, figure out your next place to live. I bet you that staying in the same neighborhood is NOT going to improve your living conditions. If money is why you live where you live, you should definitely move out of the city. (really nothing wrong with NJ, is there?)
- Check for your rights as a tenant. It may be possible that bug infestation is not grounds to letting someone go scot-free and a lawsuit (if you’re serious) will be frivolous. Just be easy to pay the early-move out cost and be done with it.

This has nothing to do with Naruto, but I’m going to hazard a guess that the poll for today was inspired by the aforementioned cockroach situation? O_o. If I could add my personal view of New York City it would be “That place I unfortunately have to drive through everyday to get to school.”
Sorry to blast your hopes of KibaHina but on the surface it’s just too obvious. I mean, where’s the _drama_ in that? (although the photo sequence above is pretty funny with your captions added)
KibaHina (as opposed to NaruHina or NejiHina) is likely to be impossible for a number of reasons. Primarily, any romance will have to be ‘comedic or not at all’ (NaruSaku could become either…). But I’m sure there’ll be plenty of backstory material to keep the KibaHina doujinshis busy…
Then there’s the whole Hyuga family ‘protect the secret of the byakugan and the main branch’ thing. It’s a fair bet that they only allow members of their family to marry members of their family, and that would go triple for Miss ‘Main Branch’ herself (who probably wants nothing to do with any of it - now _THAT_ is drama!).
So, is it any wonder Hinata freaks out when she’s around Naruto? “Not prepared for it” she says? Imagine all of the internal stress boiling over… she can’t really be with him the way she wants to because if she slips up and says or does what she really wants then her family will do something horrible to her… illogical… illogical… ~poof~ fainting spell and yet another Hina-moment for full comedic effect (or two, in this case)!
I would think that a shy and gentle girl like Hinata would rather avoid stress and avoid telling Naruto straight out “I really love you but I will have to get an arranged marriage someday so we can’t see each other because my family wouldn’t allow it.” So hiding and fleeing and fainting are her escape from this brutal reality. Perhaps the authors will reveal the true reasons for Hinata’s bizarre (yet strangely cute) behavior at some point, but I think I already nailed it. When I was in High School I knew a girl who acted like this (except for the fainting part), for similar-enough reasons.
NejiHina might be inevitable unless her father decides it’s ok for Hinata to break away from family ties. Then we could look forward to Hanabi being the ‘main branch’ (NejiHana?) and Hinata having to wear her head protector on her forehead. Either way it’s a ‘win’ for Neji, and for the Hyuga household. As for Naruto, he hasn’t started acting like his mentor yet. When he does, more comedy is expected.
Also, if you think about it, ’same team pairings’ are unlikely to happen, since small groups promote familial bonds (not romantic ones). Besides, it would be a serious breakdown in team discipline (remember the first bell test?). Anime often being true to life when it comes to interpersonal stuff, familial bonds between team members seems more likely than ’same team romantic pairings’ (despite the doujinshi potential). Still, for a main character, there can be exceptions…
Anyway it’s nice to see Hinata make an appearance before she disappears into oblivion (or ‘goes Gaara’ as someone already pointed out) or becomes the next Akatsuki target to draw Naruto into a trap. Yeah nobody saw THAT coming either.
[on a side note - in Dragonball the main character's eventual mate was a minor character who only appeared a few times, then re-appeared at the very end for the toned-down romance and engagement... in light of the many similarities between Naruto and DB/DBZ, could NaruHina play out this way also?]
I’ve had my fun now - sorry if I was long-winded. Looks like a good start to the next arc. Anyone else wanna chime in on this? I had a lot of ideas boiling in the back of my head at any rate.

I’m cool with Nejihina too, I mean they all have byakugan, they gotta inbreed! So I haven’t really dismissed that idea either. Regarding same team pairings, that means you’re cancelling out narusaku and sasusaku? Also I don’t like to compare Naruto shippings to DBZ shippings. I really don’t like to argue with people about shippings because even if the shipping you want doesn’t happen youll still support it.
In Digimon I was pissed that Sora ended up with Yamato instead of Taichi, so despite the cannon I’m still Taiora. I personally feel that Naruto should end up with Sakura and Sasuke should end up with Karin, but hey if that doesn’t happen I’m not gonna suddenly switch my “otp fandom” just because this is what ended up happening.
If you wanna compare also, look at Fruits Basket. Everyone thought Tohru would end up with Yuki, but then she ended up with Kyo, and Yuki had some side character added just so he would end up with somebody. If compared to Naruto I’d say Kyo = Naruto, Yuki = Sasuke, Machi = Karin, Tohru = Sakura. But again that’s just my opinion, and nobody is gonna change it - nor do I expect everyone to agree with it.
Fubared> Oh we plan to move to Queens. The reason I got the apatment is cause it was affordable for me alone, but now that JP has a job, we can definitely afford something less disgusting than this illegal immigrant dump.
Sabrina> Yea basically all the other teams get shafted in Shippuuden.Even when like Hinata Kiba and Shino finally showed up in the manga (a bazillion chapters later, they were clearly thrown in some backburner wit hthe focus once again on Naruto Sasuke and Akatsuki.)
Frankly I think Sasuke is going to kill his brother and then die after a tearful deathbed reunion/redemption scene with Naruto and Sakura. He’s been too much of a rotten bastard to deserve much otherwise. OTOH, despite all the jutsu and edge weapons, almost no one ever dies in Naruto, so maybe not….
Kiba got way cute. Rawrr. Hinata should remember that a bird in the hand… ^_~
What do you mean no one ever dies in Naruto? They already killed off like half of Akatsuki and a few people in Konoha X_X
Villians are storyline cannon fodder so they don’t really count in my mind, but I guess bad guys are people too…. I am anti-death penalty unless it comes to cartoons, and then I SHOW NO MERCY. XD
And perhaps when I say “people” I really mean “Sasuke” because he really should have died a few times by now. Dammit I liked Deidara.
Did Jiraiya get picked off? I haven’t been paying attention lately. Well, don’t say, that would be a spoiler. I’ll find out myself.
humm i suppose we wun be seen much action for the next 1 or 2 episode cause i think they’ll use it for introing back all our good old grown up hero =)… humm who have we not seen yet??
Sasuke death bed scene? Probably not. I’d expect more of a ‘my enemy of my enemy is my friend’ deal between team kakashi and “team Sasuke” going after the Akatsuki and specifically Itachi.
Hinano - I didn’t completely rule out NaruSaku since main characters don’t necessarily have to follow the same rules as a supporting character would, (which is probably why the story exists in the first place). So yeah, NaruSaku would be quite possible since both are main characters. That sorta takes the wind out of NaruHina doesn’t it?
Shizune made a good suggestion this ep about not sending naruto but it seems to me it was rejected because tsunade wants more angst. This really is an addictive kind of banging your head against a wall.
