Hataraki Man - 05
This episode
really made me think about the whole paparazzi thing. I mean I know they’re doing their job, but the way the scene was handled reminded me of that Britney Spears incident with yelling, cursing, umbrellas and shaved heads. While this one had yelling and umbrellas it just seemed so WEIRD that everyone kinda stood around and did nothing. Like hey we got the photos of the two of you and now we’re going to ruin your lives, but that’s our job. Ok nice meeting you *bows politely, gives business card* bye now! I mean naturally my first reaction was, why is the guy just standing holding his umbrella, rather than going for the camera? I realize at first it looked like he was gonna put up a fight, but I guess his agent or whoever held him back (rather terribly) and that somehow calmed him down. Um wtf? You’d rather be all polite and Japanese tatemae bullshit when possibly your whole career is at stake?
Yea that was annoying. For once, while they were all celebrating and cheering for getting their “scoop” all I could see in my eyes “you must be proud you fucking sleezy assholes.” Bah.
Also apparently eating Nattou Maki rolls makes you manlier - which is why Hiroko munches on them on a daily basis.
Upcoming Attractions: Well Shinji didn’t get to dump her this week, but maybe the next?

No matter how silly this episode was (I was screaming at the TV when the guy was just standing there having his picture taken, and the whole scene was just terribly acted lol) I still liked it Kano Miho as Hiroko is just excellent she really fits the bill plus her acting isn’t that shabby either. Plus waiting on her bf to dump her just can’t make me stop watching I really want to see how the scene is going to be played out and how each one of them copes with it (I’m not spoiling or anything..I haven’t read the manga or watched the anime, but its bound to happen all signs are pointing to YES!)
blog minami-ke!
Actually, nattou is supposed contain estrogen (per the anime fansub). On Wiki, nattou is theoretically suppose to reduce testosterone. Good for men because it reduces balding and good for women because you become less masculine (leaving only estrogene to rage through body as it were.) In the case of our heroine, this may be a metaphor illustrating her desire to maximize her feminity and minimize any masculine tendencies.
Oh maybe I heard it wrong? I thought she was eating it so that she could work better o_o
