Manga Review: Modotte! Mamotte Lollipop Vol. 4
So here’s the
most recent Modotte volume. So now Nina Zero and Ichi (as well as the others) are in high school. The only exception is Rokka and Go. Go appears to have become Rokka’s guardian/babysistter and Rokka returned to her original form and goes to an elementary school next door.
The manga begins once again with what happened in the original MamoLoli - everyone chases Nina because they want to make her go dokidoki - in order to release the crystal pearl drops. More generic high school romance elements are added such as how all the girls want Zero and Ichi’s cock and there’s a Zero fanclub who hates Nina because the rumor is “she and Zero have broken up” but only those within the magic candidate circle know that the real deal is.
The bishies arrive.
Nina attempts to run away from Zero because of threats from his fanclub.
After coaxing him to go on a date, Nina asks if he could give her a kiss - just once. He tells her he can’t or else he’ll lose the crystals he has but after throwing a tantrum she complies and says she understands. Well Zero can’t contain himself anyway so he gives her a bootleg kiss on the forehead.
Nina later discovers her phone in the garbage can. She realizes one of the Zero Fanclub girls did it and she totally goes apeshit on her demanding an apology. The girl doesn’t understand what Nina is mad about since she and Zero aren’t going out but Zero shows up in time to tell her like it is!
The above occurs when the other candidates decide the best way to get the pearl drop out of Nina is to make her doki doki and the best person to do that is Zero! So they try the lovelove plan to get the two together. One of them uses his ability to put a love spell on Zero who totally hits on Nina and things lead up to the kiss. (with everyone watching lol) This gets the drop out and 7 and 8 get the pieces. Didn’t bother translatin this page cause it’s full of I wanna be with you’s and I love you’s.
Ichi’ss sister in law comes to stay over (and apparently Nina had never met her before which tells me the anime episode was a filler) and so Zero needs a place to stay temporarily…so he stays at Nina’s. Her mom finds them the next morning and Nina lies saying Zero is a girl and has him dress up in girly clothes lol.
Then some dorama happens where Ichi feels Zero is not taking good care of Nina and says he will take Nina away from him. Eventually the two of them make up and…
Ichi drops the bomb and admits that he’s gay. 
Wtf. I’m at loss for words.

lol wow so much better than the anime. i couldnt stop laughing when you said boot leg kiss because what went through my head was either he blew on her fore head or spat on her fore head lol o.0. so buying this volume.

Hehe, I seriously can’t stop giggling, I read a few chapters of Madotte! then stopped cause it was too mushy for my taste. I thought Ichi was solid, but now I just cant stop laughing.

It’s true that Ichi is gay??!! But before he was in love with Sarasa no? Well, the people change.. and please go on on doing this manga rewiews of shoujo mangas and of curse of Madotte!Mamotte!Lollipop I love them! It is a great help for the ones (like me) who don’t understand japenese and wait for scans in english but they’re low, and want to know what happened in the history so please keep the good work, you’re amazing!^^

that would explain why ichi sooo attached to zero.. i see this is gonna get a) boring (not much of a yaoi fan) b) nina goes through seductive methods to make sure zero stays hers~ B) was more of a hope rather than a actually thought
on another note ther was a chapter i remember reading that contianed nina going into the future and between nina ichi and zero were getting married nina wated to know who but the older nina saidjust wait and youll find out in nina mind while going back intime she said something along the lines of ” i love zero i wont give up” ..but does that mean the married couple caould be zero and ichi O_O!

Ok, they Gay thing, It was pretty obvious in the beginning.. When you’v seen as many shounen-ai or slashable animes as I have the looks and words give it away. And hawt guys being gay is just fine really. But also remember just because he likes Zero (and remember he has strong feelings for him) doesnt mean he will go out and look at guys for a sport. He loves who he loves not what gender they are. He loved Sarasa (sp?) Soo… Anyway i think he isnt “GAY” he just strongly cares for Zero!
