Manga Review: Shugo Chara Vol. 1

everyone’s information, this IS available in English. It has been licensed so my scans won’t have any translations cause frankly if you wanna understand it, just buy it. It’s worth it, eroneko ftw! 
Anyway I’m not really gonna go into the details of the volume but what instead I’d like to do is point out the anime differences. While I did get the first 4 volumes, instead of doing my usual manga review posts, I’ll just post manga differences in with my anime posts. Since pretty much the anime has aired most of volume 1 (the rest will be posted tomorrow) I figured I’d just go ahead and do one combo post for the fisrt book. So anyway on with the scans.
So as usagijen mentioned, in the first episode Amu was supposed to land on Ikuto-mattress but Satellite mysteriously cut him out of that scene. Instead they had him fly up as the EBIL CATBOY OH NOES. Also the humpty lock didn’t come from him - it was given to Amu by the Guardians…so why he had it in the anime is beyond me.
Also I love the way some art is in this manga. I mean people rag on Kodomo no Jikan, but look at this lol! It gets worse in volume 2 when Amu looks down her shirt and realizes she’s a flat chested loli. 
WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS CHARACTER LAWL? This is Utau. Coincidentally, she’s a popular idol singer. HARRRRRRRRR. She’s like got the hots for Ikuto, is actually one of the bad guys, and is a total potential rival for Amu…but she’s just been..cut out. Wtf? I hope it’s just some mix of events Sattelite is doing, otherwise they’ll get the Kamichama treatment from me. 
Eh this is for tomorrow but I figured I’d post it anyway. Ikuto climbs into Amu’s room and brings her some candy to make up for ruining her tarts that time. When she tries to ask about his “negai” (which I wonder how they will handle since UTAU WAS THE ONE WHO MENTIONED IT WTF) he tells her to lend him an ear and he will tell her. Well he bites it instead lol 
Ear biting = sexy.
So anyway yea, I’ll just post manga scans along with the episode. So yea my episode posts are gonna be Sattelite flamebait now. See guys this is all your fault. I told you if I got the manga, I’d start flaming the anime, but noooo. 
P.S. I can’t believe Del Ray translated “KURU ANDO SUPAISHI” as “cool and hot”. SPICY IS NOT HOT. ITS NOT COOL AND HOT ITS COOL AND SPICY.

For those who are curious, Del Rey just shipped Shugo Chara #2 last week. It’s very definitely Peach Pit, for those who are keeping track of such things, regarding quality. In other words… it varies, but it’s usually very pretty with a touch of chibi when people go SD.
And Hinano: welcome to Del Rey - they make the oddest choices for translations sometimes. I guess someone thought ’spicy’ sounded better, so in it went.
Oh my god, Cool and Spicy becomes Cool and Hot? That totally takes the awesomeness out of everything. What the heck, they even use engrish in the anime! xD
I read volume 2 on the train today. Very sexay “Will it fit into such a small space” LOOOL. I’ve yet to read volume 3 but I’m trying to plow through this otome game
Well, Utau should show up soon, cause she’s in the OP and the ED. So hopefully she’s not being cut out of the story entirely. (although judging by that scan they drew her to look older in the anime)
How old is Ikuto supposed to be? He’s an awfully *precocious* little boy. ^^
NO idea the manga didn’t mention anyone’s ages except Amu’s 3 year old sister. I THINK all the kiddies are 11, while Ikuto I’m gonna assume is 16? I believe Utau is 14

Reiji seems to have some problematic issues. Sensei is always lured into “compromising situations”. Rin doesn’t help with that either. >_>
i’m wanting to know everyone’s age in the manga and show.. might prove shocking… or a new generation of loli characters?? =p gt any pics of amu wearing the gurdian cape?? put them down!! i wanna see

The manga looks so much steamier than the anime XD Ear-biting is sexy because Ikuto is sexy, any other not-so-sexy character would be called a perv :p

I’m not sure about Ikuto’s age either. But I’m guessing he’s in high school or something.
Yea I only know the change because I saw the preview of it on their site. I don’t usually buy English manga XD My only English manga is the last volume of Chrno Crusade because the Japanese one went out of print x_X;
is the manga available in singapore?
I found it hilarious as when Ikuto was lookin for her eggs in the manga pic it looked like he was tyrin to touch her ass! classic pic!
