Genshiken II - 01

Man I love Genshiken. I read the manga a year ago but I haven’t revisited it so this doesn’t seem TOO stale to me. Then again I only remember the stuff that involved Ogiue and Sasahara or Madarame and Saki (such a sad shipper I am.) I gotta admit though I think Genshiken portrays the whole Otaku making doujinshi aspect 21827209874982 times better than Doujin Work ever did. Doujin work was just…retarded. Maybe because this show is more realistic instead of having old men run around with lolis and main characters whose first and last names mean “childhood friend.” Also, I wish America would have a convention like Comiket, but that dream will probably never come true.

Man that manga club guy…I just wanna bitch slap him. Damn Japan and their politeness and shit. They’d rather admit they’re virgins than tell the guy to stfu…come on! :shock: Also for some reason I expected Ogiue to draw yaoi rather than….wait you know I never did figure out if that picture she showed Madarame & Sasahara was a girl or a shota lol. Anyway if you don’t know anything about Genshiken or never saw the first season or read the manga, you’ll probably find this extremely boring. On the other hand, this show makes me motivated not to give up drawing doujinshi. Hey maybe it’ll work for that 21+ convention in Rhode Island if they ever get that off the ground.

    I see you’re getting exited about that Providence con. I have high hopes for it too, but they better announce something soon if its gonna happen in 2008!

    I’ve been waiting for the second series since I hears the news.

    An introduction of a new “foreigner” character would add to the show.

    I knew absolutely nothing of this show and found your post rather interesting. I watched part of the “Doujin Work” anime and found it too stupid to stomach. I made it through 2 fast-forwarded episodes and that was it for me. It looked like a great Idea from reading about it on here and other places, was simply to dumb for me.

    I hope this one gets subbed. And regularly. I’m still stuck at episode 5 of Sayanora Mr Despair. :( I was digging that show and it just stopped. Hate when that happens.

    I think Genshiken will get subbed, I mean it’s pretty popular with the old fans as far as I know.

    Dattebayo released Genshiken 2 ep 1

    a.f.k. is out with Sayonara Mr Despair 6 hopefully they will continue the series.
