Clannad - 01
キタ━((((((((((っ・ω・)っo((・ω・))oｃ(・ω・ｃ)))))))))))━ !!!!! It’s finally here!…but yet I’ve got a few minor bones to pick with a few things..but hey what fun is it for me to write a fangirly post without something bad to say about it? Let me just say that I love Sunohara. He is clearly my favorite character. Number 2 is Nagisa and number 3 would be Kyo…however I cried sad tears of despair when Nagisa’s seiyuu sounded like she had spent the night before screaming her lungs out. I will forgive her though because she had to scream her lungs out voicing Rena in Higurashi and Karin (who yelled a lot more than Rena did in Higurashi Kai lol.)
Second of all I have a problem with Kyo. Until after I watched the episode to confirm, I thought she was being voiced by a different person. It feels like her vocal chords have gone from soprano to alto during the animation cast call. Wtf KyoAni ;^; Give me my Kyo-chan and Nagisa-chan’s cute voices back!! (´；ω；｀) But the good news is Sunohara sounds just like his good old bastardacious self. While they didn’t do it in this episode, I’m really hoping that they will do the whole “8 hit - 24 hit” combo that Tomoyo does on him. I was rather disappointed that the whole thing was covered up by a flashback. 
Did anyone who played the game notice the kitty? 
I was like KITTYYY. Not because I have a rabid cat obsession but the story involving that kitty made me cry many tears. (⊃ω・｀｡) Dragoboobs has nothing on this show. All star cast my ass - the cast in Clannad beats it 100 times over. Seriously. Good to see that Ryo got a scene but her card prediction made me laugh. Gee way to give away the plot of the whole episode lol! Speaking of episode plot, I really got confused when they did the whole flashback thing back & forth. I was like wait are we in present or past tense now ?_?
My favorite part was definitely when Tomoya meets the family. Akio is probably one of my favorite secondary characters. Sanae is funny with her nasty bread but Akio definitely takes the cake. I’m glad they give the two of them a separate mini story in the game although I doubt we’ll actually get to see it in the anime. There’s so many endings (see my game post) that my guess is the anime will only focus on the main girls. I never saw the opening prior to now but based on the op it looks like not even Ryo will get an ending (I wonder if we’ll at least see her boyfriend…woops spoiler!) Also I loved when they made names for Tomoya. Okazaki Ginga! 
It’s great to see such minor jokes get added into the show.
Finally the one thing I’m really looking forward to is the whole illusionary world scenes. In the game it was really confusing because all you saw on screen was just text from I guess Tomoya’s POV. There was no vocal dialogue so needless to say a lot of it flew over my head. All I recall is the word “garakuta” quite often which means junk/rubbish etc. I thought the girl in the illusionary world was a doll but it looked like a real girl in the anime o_O…actually it looked like Ushio…WOOPS SPOILER. I’ll be honest I’ll try to write as spoiler free as I possibly can in these posts but sometimes I may forget how far the show went and spill the beans so please heed warning when reading my Clannad posts. 
Upcoming Attractions: It’s so strange to see all the girls’ stories happening simultaneously, but eh it’ll be ok. We get to meet my 2 least favorite characters Puuko Fuuko and Kotomi.

Wait, doesn’t the junk girl look a lot like the girl by the tree in the final image of the game? Does that mean that she was able to escape from the junk world?

Hmmm, I guess I’ll wait for all the fluffy moe to pass and wait for the drama to show up before I start Clannad. I’ll probably just refer back to this blog to see when things start getting juicy. After watching all of Kanon I think I’ve had my fill of moe for a long time.

Sunohara was hilarious, but of an idiotic kind.
It was funny that he was used like a rugby ball, kicking and passing him around, as well as he panicked in a funny way for something by a man’s angry voice of that Tomoya said, which I didn’t understood what he said since I saw the raw version.
I’m still waiting for the subbed version to be put up at the Tosho site.
Though I wasn’t initially going to watch Clannad at all, after reading your post (and watching the ending video about dango at least a dozen times … ^^;), I realized that I have to watch it ^_^

The ending dango song is actually the nagisa theme song I’m obsessed with …except they added lyrics (that are different than the lyrics to a similar thing they did on the clannad OST)

They covered quite a lot of ground in one episode.
I’m ready to cry all over again; this episode is the first episode of anime I’ve watched in around 2 months…it’ll provide quite a lot of the love n affection that is sadly missing from the pressure cooker that is law school -_-
PS didn’t expect to see the grown-up ver. of THAT girl that often and THAT early.

Nagisa is the one they will end on, she’s the only one with an “after story” for more plot footage.
