Fall Firsts 2007: Part 2!
Back with the latest and the (not so) greatest reviews of the fall season shows, here come’s today’s (not so) great lineup! (And be sure to hover over the images :D)
Mokke - First of all the face designs of all the characters scare me. Well they work ok on the old people, but the 2 main characters look like they have a developmental disease or something. I dunno if this was intentional or not, but it creeps me out. Second of all - slice of life - girl looking at flowers and disappointed that she didn’t find the right one. Neeeext. And finally, the spirits thing just creeps me out, and not in a goodway like Higurashi, but in a “eww it’s that nasty bum on the subway, I’d rather stand than sit next to him” kind of way. This one only lasted 6 minutes until I gave up.
Blue Drop - EMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOO LAWL. Holy crap this show is awful. A little teenage brat is sent to a public school (instead of getting home schooled) by her grandma and she throws a bitchfit on everyone. If that wasn’t enough, Miyamoto sensei or whatever that old hag’s name is an annoying old bitch. God I wanna slap her 20 times upside the head. The funniest thing to me was the principal with the long purple hair. He looks like he escaped out of some 1970s shoujo manga xD. Also I think I read somewhere this show has yuri, so even if no one was emo, I’d be like “ew girl x girl” and immediately delete it anyway. I did make it through 12 minutes.
Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro - ROFL! This show is so stupid it’s great! A man injecting himself with food steroids! 
This show reminds me of Busou Renkin. It pretends to be all cool action but is really a goofy shounen series. At this rate we may even get a mankini or a fight on the moon!! In any case I really liked it, both me and JP were cracking up at how ridiculous it was. I also love the cast, and on the note of Busou Renkin, the seiyuu for Kazuki is in this!! If episode 2 keeps this up I will definitely add this to my blogging lineup!
Myself, Yourself - I nominate this anime for the dumbest title of the season. Anyway it’s REALLY generic. I don’t know what it’s trying to do to stand out of the cookie cutter mold, but so far I’m barely seeing the outline. We got the whole Kanon rip off with the guy coming back to his old town and forgetting the girl he totally had a crush on as a kid. Naturally this girl is now not only tsundere, but she’s also a MIKO! *le gasp* Also one of his other childhood friends now sports megane and has LARGE BOOBS. His other childhood friend has nothing special other than she’s voiced by Tamura Yukari, which is a trait within itself..and of course he has his male chf, who’s the typical guy everyone makes fun of/moodmaker etc. Oh and of course the moment the guy moves in, the first thing one of his chf finds is his boxes of porn. How much porn does a guy need sheesh? Will check out episode 2. I really like the animation but I’m not sure how much of this I can stand.
Night Wizard - The Animation - While I have no knowledge of this game or whatever, the animation is actually REALLY NICE. I also love the characte designs…but the best part of it all…YANAGI NAOKI XD!!! He voiced Cacao in Trouble Chocolate which is insta-love for me 
But actually I think Renji’s an awesome character XD I’m not too fond of Elis but I like Kureha. That light blue haired girl who gives Renji all his assignments is rather annoying as well as the “shadowy bad guys” in the background. Eh I’ll give it another ep or 2 see how it goes. It does feel a bit refreshing from watching all shows similar to the one listed above.
Suteki Tantei Labyrinth - So what’s with the overflow of detective shows this season O.o? Me and JP had assumed this would be a show about a shota solving crimes (which it is) but I had thought it was gonna be all shotaful like Saint October was goth loliful. But it started out with a bunch of sluts fighting and then it showed Tokyo 3 a city which looked like Tokyo but overcome with ruins. They also threw in white haired twins which gave me Ouran vibes until I realized one of them is voiced by Paku Romi. The shota didn’t even appear until the end (after I got sick of watching and scrolled through) and he “solved the mystery” by showing us his poofy girly dog and clumsy meido-san. Needless to say, I won’t even bother continuing to watch this.

Myself;Yourself looks really interesting and from your description Majin could be really good. I’ll check those two shows out if I have the chance.
Blue Drop is yuri, the manga is but as the manga is pretty much one shoot chapters with the background being a post alien (the aliens are a female only) invasion Earth … I read it because 4chan tricked into reading it but the strength of the manga is not being yuri but how the aliens are doing things (I got tricked by being shown something that seem from /h/ but then it was from /y/ and at then I have to say its a very wierd /d/).
The anime “adaptation” seems to end up being at beast some kind of “Kannazuki no Miko” but I doubt it will be that good.
Glad to see that I’m not the only one slightly unhinged by the six shows in one day… plus another downloading. Oi.
Neuro is supposed to be a messed up series but it isn’t supposed to be anything like Busou Renkin at all. The manga was ecletic, grotesque, and just damn creepy. There isn’t anything remotely like gay butterflies, Moonfaces, “underdogs”, or any humor (that made me laugh) at all. Also, I have NO IDEA why but they decided to jump to the 3rd (and shittiest) “case” of all. So maybe that’s why this seemed a lot more retarded then it should have been. Then again, this was the shittiest arc in the whole damn manga (from what I’ve read).
Night Wizard is really pretty ^^. I wasn’t expecting much from it but I really liked it. I didn’t watch the rest because I either heard bad things from other people or they were just not for me.

I’ll give it another ep to see what it’s like. If it gets too gross I prolly won’t bother with it.

The principal guy in Blue Drop looks like he’s from Gakuen Heaven. Seriously.

Hey! There are tons of 70s shows that are far better looking than Kaiji.
I’ll be looking forward to your review next time on Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro, since I was all about Buso Renkin and it might be fun to have a silly show this fall! Where did all the shows with the “bokura ga ita” plot quality go?! no manga turned romance/drama animes?! lol
I think the closest you’re gonna get to romance drama is gonna be Clannad

Well there are a few shows that are eroge adaptations … Ef ~a tale of memories~ is one.
And since Clannad is KyoAni … well looking at what they did with Kanon I would not be holding my breath for any conclusive ending on that one.
I’ll give night wizard a shot. Man I do not like yuri animes.
Majin Tantei Nogami Neuro should get better Madhouse has flipped around the chapters a bit, but this case is pretty much a bad one. I don’t get why they started the show like that. But yeah, it’s fun. I don’t think it’s meant to be taken that seriously.
The rest of the shows… yeah. I think I’ll pass for now.
I dropped Myself, Yourself at about 8 minute mark, and decided to drop Blue Drop after the full episode. However, I see much potential in Mokke, but wonder about the mismatch between the overall mood of the anime and the mood of OP song. Mokke’s OP song may be the best composed OP song this year, but the mood and the musical language just doesn’t fit with the anime atmosphere.
Ugh, doesn’t sound too good so far. I thought Mokke was a nice show to watch. It looked like it had a nice atmosphere.
Those detective shows got my interest. I think I will at least watch one episode of them to check them out.
Other than that I thank you for your impressions so far =)

You don’t like yuri anime? Chikane x Himeko will do the tanto scene on you! Pretty much have watched at least one of every genre out there. There isn’t particularly a genre I dislike unless it’s:

The first and only key crap was Kanon. Never again.
The last H game show was Touka Gettan. Before that was Nanatsuero. And before that was Trappiness! just for… you know who. :3 Generic highschool harems aren’t interesting… unless there is something special in it.

PS. School days really should have ended up like Virginia Tech. That, my friend would have made it more interesting that the standard “Kill the damn pimp and his beetcyh.”

-Mokke sounds pretty boring from the reviews I’ve read of it; I’ll probably skip it. The OP does sound awesome though.
-Neuro doesn’t have any mankinis or fights on the moon but there IS a crazy shapeshifting serial killer trap and it has INTERNET ZOMBIES (though I dunno if Madhouse is going to animate that far). I hope you end up blogging it, your comments should be hilarious.

I’ve checked the first two episodes of this series and it’s not bad at all. I’ll add one more to the list of what to watch, which is now 5 or 6 shows.
I’ve checked RC’s blog about this show and there have been comparisons to Love Hina and School Days with this series by the comments from other people.
