I should've guessed that there would be a sequel, now that they've only just introduced one of the 'real' villains. But seriously, the end of this episode doesn't look good for either Rina, Daisuke, or Shiika.

Did you read　the novels?
If you're saying the anime cut out a lot, it's no wonder I'm confused! :D

BTW, the anime didt explain well about the rival between the East and Central bureaucracy too. kakko is belong to the East side, headed by the creepy glasses guy(i forget his name). C(the butterfly girls) and the blonde used to belong to the East side too.( they said they used to work with Kakko) but they were being taken by the central.
So both two sides were so getting Shiika as the side that capture her gets her power.
That is not spolier and it somehow did explain in the anime. However, somehow this anime didt explain lots of thing and assume we will get it with their three-or-four lines conversation. those didt read the friction, like my friends just dont get it.

May be the anime didnt explain it well. Their order is to capture her for their future use. aiming the bug would of no use because they cannot kill it, but stabbing her making her unconscious can stop the fight immediately.

That's true but you'd think they'd be smart enough to aim for her bug lol

Those guy stabbed Shiika because they had no choice. If they dont follow the bureaucracy''s order, they are gonna be the next on the death list. That's why kakko were forced to kill Rina even though he wanna save her. Kakko have to do wtever it takes to protect his dream as that's the promise he made with Shiika.
That's how I interpret from the friction.
