I liked the anime ending so much better. Chocola becomes queen of the ogres and Le Royume(sp?) in that one!

I think sometimes, it gets all buggy-eyed on me, and some of the fashion is sort of…strange. But a lot of it is edgy fashion. And you have to say it’s like no shoujo/josei/seinen you’ve ever seen before. It’s like shoujo x10 with its huge huge huge eyes, skinny skinny body, and patterns, hearts, and everything everywhere… It takes awhile to catch on, but when I’m watching the anime, I really do have to say that I miss it in a way. XD SSR fits HER art, because it’s HER story, you know? The story, the art is like nothing else. And I think her art has its pretty moments (note the “we become one” scan). I won’t say it’s GORGEOUS on every page, and glorious on color, but it’s fun, it’s quirky, it’s cute, and there are certain moments where I DO think it’s gorgeous. And she bring that old 80’s-90’s feel with the new style… It still looks slightly strange sometimes, even after 8 vol, which isn’t good…But mostly, I appreciate it, especially when you see her bg stuff.

BUT Her busy pages never become unreadable or confusing or make you dizzy. It only sets up atmosphere and style. So artistic quirks aside, she knows her stuff. And it’s actually the best this mangaka’s art ever looked (or really, the most mainstream it’s ever looked). She really infused creativity, fashion, the new shoujo style and her own style together and took away the minimalism and some of that 70’s style she had. What’s left is a lot like what she did to the Magical Girl genre in SSR. A little old-school (”Sally” girls), the new stuff with competition, intrigue, and fighting evil forces, and then put her own spin on it and turned it upside down on its head.

If you can tell…I’m a really big fan of SSR. XD (And her in general too, but SSR was a lot more fun than her other stuff, which are…depressing, really.)

I can hardly stand to look at her coloured pics. D: I can stand he art when it’s just black & white, but when it’s coloured. +shudders+ I hate old school looking style.
