Manga Review: Shinshi Doumei Cross Vol. 8
So I picked up the latest volume in this ongoing shoujo series.
Before I proceed I just want to make one thing clear. (Although most people who find this site will probably not read this and ask anyway.) I purchase all my manga k? Even when I’ll post some review about a Naruto chapter - I’ll go and buy the freaking manga when the book’s released anyway. Every Manga Review I do is based on something I bought so asking me “where can I download it??” is like asking in a dog breeder if he has any kittens for sale. On the point of buying manga, I buy Japanese manga. Similarly asking me where can you get the English version…is retarded. Just because it’s in English in my posts doesn’t mean the original manga is in ENGLISH. I scanlate it for you guys so you can get the point of my post! Sheesh =_=;; (Seriously click the manga category and see how many comments are - WHERE DID YOU DOWNLOAD ENGLISH VERSION???) Anyway on with the review.

So even when Ushio finally gets Haine all to herself, she realizes it’s not what she wants. She runs back to that manwhore sensei who tells her that she needs to finally forgive herself and stop being angry at Haine. I actually read a bangaihen (extra chapter) at the end which basically shows why Ushio was pissed off at Haine. Apparently the first time they met they had lotsa fun when they were kids, but then Haine stopped coming to Ushio’s house because well she was a gang member and she didn’t feel Ushio should be hanging out with her. Ushio just got pissed that Haine left her all alone and when they met again that’s why she was always so “cool” but all she wanted to do was to make Haine miserable so she could understand her pain etc. Blah I really dislike Ushio as a character after this ^^;;;;

Anyway after all that hubub Haine gets called into the office of who I think is the vice principal or principal. He gives her an envelope and says she reminds him of the 38th Koutei. Haine doesn’t know what he means but when she walks out and opens the envelope she finds as photo of her mom and “Itsuki-sama”…her REAL dad. She then goes to see her real mom and when she calls her mom by her real name her mom starts babbling the story of their past. It turns out that Haine’s mom was in love with Itsuki, but Haine’s step-dad Kazuhito (?) wanted her mom instead. He used his powers to kick Itsuki out of the Koutei spot and then she was forced to marry him - in order for her sick mother to get hospital care. (Where have I seen THIS plot line before e.e;) But before she could marry him she ended up having Haine…..and Haine basically became the “bastard child” who the father disliked which is why she got involved in yankee activities.

Takanari finally gets some balls and tells Shizumasa that he likes Haine. This happens when they find out that Haine went to see her mom and then disappeared afterwards…leaving only a note that said “I’m sorry everyone.”

Well now that Haine knows the reason that she was ostrasized and hated all this time is because she’s a bastard child of her mom’s former lover. So with her hopes crushed once more, (if Ushio’s pms wasn’t enough) she runs off back to her yankee buddies. With this the volume ends but this isn’t even 3/4 of the book. The rest is like stupid chibi comics with Maora that I didn’t even bother reading.
The end also contains a 1 shot original story in which a girl named Eve is hated by everyone because she’s…cute. All the guys want her and all the girls hate her because apparently she makes friends’ boyfriends fall in love with her. The one guy she liked she was finally gonna confess to, but before she could, she found out another girl had confessed to him the day before and they were already going out. Eve is upset, but the one guy who’s been hitting on her as a joke and calling her cute, admits that he really loves her and later she finds out that he’s the same guy who fell in love with her at the time he was dating her friend…and he’s been in love with her ever since. ^^; I know it’s kinda cheesy but I love these kinds of things, it’s this crap that gets me glued to Tanemura Arina’s work.

Actually (I’m not too sure either) but I think Kazuhito is the black haired guy Maika (Haine’s mom) is married to (but against her will). Like, Kazuhito forced married her and so Maika went and slept with Itsuki (that damn slut). Kazuhito knew about this so in order to “free Haine from Kazuhito’s will” (cause like Haine reminded Kazuhito too much of Maika and he didn’t want her to be like, I dunno ruled over by him like what he did to her mom) so he “sold” Haine to Itsuki and so she lives with her real dad now but she thinks he’s her stepdad and Kazuhito (the guy who she thought was her real dad) is actually her stepdad.
..whatthefuck.
Oh, and for future people who are looking for this manga, GOD GAVE US GOOGLE FOR A REASON. USE IT.
Kazuhito IS the black haired guy.
Kazuhito didn’t force marry Maika.
From what I read, Maika loved Itsuki, but Itsuki said that with him there’s no future and with Kazuhito she will have money to support her sick mother or whatever. Maika even said “one day I will come back to you” and then she had Haine.
NOt sure where you got your summary above from XD;;
I asked that once… now I feel bad…
Just Kidding.
I buy most of my manga too. Mostly because I read stuff (in English) that no one has scanlated (is that a term?).
I only purchase Claymore, Ah! My Goddess, & Berserk in english even though I have the scanlations. I love them so much I feel the need to support and re-read them over and over of course.
I have never purchased Naruto, but did by all of the available seasons in their “uncensored” versions.
That’s all the money they are getting out of me.
Wow, what a twist. I guess what really happened with her “selling” is that Kazuhito felt that he no longer wanted the bastard heir, and so he gave her back to Itsuki for a price. Though I wonder: Does Itsuki know that Haine is his real daughter?
Yes he does. He gave her the photo of himself and Maika and said to himself “I named you Haine”
Here in mexico it’s really hard to find manga so mmm i guess i’ll keep quiet when asking people stuff as 2 where i can find the manga online. Well thanks for the summary
appreciated
