Hanazakari no Kimitach E - 12 (Finale)

Published by Hinano at 10:50 pm under Hanazakari no Kimitachi E

You know the ending made me cry, but not the part with Sano lawl! While I admit that Sano acted probably his best in this episode than he did the whole series, the award for best male of the show clearly goes to Nakatsu, and in MY mind him and Mizuki are this drama’s OTP! (I don’t care what the manga says because apparently manga Sano isn’t a big jackass.) Anyway the 3 dorm leaders find out that Mizuki is a girl because they accidentally catch her changing. They confront her and she admits it, simultaneously discovering that Sano & Nakatsu both knew way before that she was a girl as well.

The school festival is coming up so Mizuki is helping everyone decorate. For now they decide to keep this whole thing a secret between the 5 of them and that Hibari girl (who eventually gives Sano back Mizuki’s passport because he admits to being in love with Mizuki.) During a decorating period, Mizuki falls off the ladder and loses consciousness. The guys try to take off her shirt to allow her breathing room and discover her “padding” to hide her boobs. After this they all make fun of her and treat her negatively because they feel betrayed that she lied to them all this time.

Eventually when Sano finally speaks up and explains to them why Mizuki came here in the first place, some of the guys begin taking her side and beating up those who try to mess with her. Mizuki’s class does a maid cafe for the school festival where all the guys xdress (except her lol). After that they watch a silly Romeo & Juliet play and then all once again perform in yet another xdressing fashion show. Except this time..the winner is Sano, not Mizuki lol. Wtf =_=; After the festivities, Mizuki decides she’s going to go back to America.

Everyone figures out that she secretly wants to leave because parting is too sad for her..and they all confront her at the gates. Everyone says their respective goodbyes and we see a bunch of flashbacks. At the end, Nakatsu (who ran off first =_=;) comes back and says his goodbyes to her. He tells her that he’ll never forget her now matter how old he gets, and says she’s the best friend he’s had. Both of them are in tears at this point and Nakatsu gives her a hug. (Cue me crying here ;—-; Nakatsu~~~!) After this the nurse guy offers to take Mizuki to the airport and makes up a lame excuse to take Sano along with them.

On the way to the airport first they sit on the opposite ends of the bus…until eventually Sano goes to the back and sits next to her. There we see a bunch of flashbacks to every Sano x Mizuki scene (yuck) most of which were ones where he was pretty much a jackass. Silly director, flashbacks are meant to show good and emotional and moving scenes, not scenes where you wanna punch the main character because he’s being a dick! Eventually they get to the airport and the nurse guy and that photographer girl seem like they might be getting back together (lol apparently Mizuki made him straight wut?)…while Sano goes “Well since you’re not part of Ohsaka Gakuen now..and you’re not a ‘boy’ anymore…hey look over there!” Then he hugs and kisses her and tells her next time he will come to her.

We are not amused.

They show a flash forward, 1 month later in California Mizuki gets an arrow with a newspaper attached to it…which says that the Ohsaka Gakuen’s school trip is to California. How ironic. Harr. Well the only thing I can think of is that there might be some kind of special - or at least this opens up the possibility for one. Ah well overall it was a fun drama and I would say I like the ending in this more than the ending for Hana Yori Dango season 1 (season 2 was okay I guess ?_? but I digress.)

At the end they showed a commercial in which the girl who plays Mizuki will be starring in another drama called “Deru Toko Demashou” which is apparently about her being a lawyer’s assistant. It’s probably not something I’ll be watching but what amuses me is how they basically took the cast of Yama Onna Kabe Onna people and shoved them together  Also her role really reminds me of the way she was in Kurosagi, and I really didn’t like Kurosagi all too much.

Ah boo hoo. I cried a bit too, or felt like it, but not the Sano gushy-goo part. LOL. But he was nicer here, although if I want a nicer and kinder Sano I can just read the manga.

Oh, but it was funny when they played that PEACH song out of nowhere. Killed everything. Ahaha.

And Mizushima Hiro in this episode was so *____*, especially in his outfit.

I hope there’s a special on that, because if the ending was like that, it’d be awkward. o____0

Ok wow where do I start.

I loved this episode to bits, really really well-done. I was glued to the screen for the one hour and a half run time. (yes its that long!) Lost of things to like here, Nakatsu and Mizuki crying and hugging was a highlight really wonderfully done. Not too melodramatic and not too over the top just right (which is rare for a JP dorama!). Ya and I wasn’t a fan of sano’s either I wanted Nakatsu to get the girl too! Oh well atleast Sano kind of turned for the better by the end of it.

Ikuta Toma’s been in a few dramas, but after Hana Kimi expect to see him everywhere as a super JE Idol LOL.

He’s been a JE idol since ever, in fact that’s actually HOW I knew him (shounen club etc)…figures he’d be in neverland, the only drama featuring a shitload of johnys

Ikuta Toma will be doing a stage play in October… Two Gentlemen from Verona. That’s all I know if his up coming gigs.

    Woah.
So he IS a JE idol.
    Heheh.
I expected him to get RECRUITED after his role as Nakatsu…
And then model for underwear brands (like Mike He) and star in a shitload of other dramas as the second male star.
Wait, JE stands for Johnny Entertainment, no?
    Whatever.

The last episode wasn’t really great in my opinion, like CWL.
But the lastest-latest parts of both dramas made me smile.
    ^______________^

    I hope there’ll be a season two…
And a special featuring the OHSAKA field trip.
The first season’s ending just left the audience going “Ummm…? Isn’t there supposed to be something else?”

Ikuta Toma (Nakatsu) before this was in Hanayori Dango 2. One of his earliest roles was in Akihabara Deep where he played an Otaku.
Hope to see more of him …

I just finished this series recently, really enjoyed it, hopefully in the future there will be more entertaining live-action dramas like this that include those cool animeish effects.

I felt like stabbing someone after i saw the final episode. I was waiting the whole season for Nakatsu and Mizuki to somehow get together but it didn’t happen. I cried too (manly tears of course) during the ending, but I had to skip the first couple groups because I hate when drama’s suddenly have everyone say something even though we haven’t seen them at all since the 1st episode.

I must say this was a fun watch though, especially drunk (don’t ask why but for some reason it was).

Ikuta Toma won an award for his role in this drama. I’m not suprised =] in fact im extremely happy. He was definately my favourite…

They are coming out with a special soon (if its anything like the Densha Otoko special, its gonna be crazy) but its supposed to be set half a year after the drama ended.

Personally, I’m VERRRRYYYY excited. Hana Kimi is my favourite manga, and although the drama is almost nothing like the manga except for the existence of characters and how they act [with the exception of sano] it was still one of the best drama’s that I’ve seen.

Ikuta Toma was also in another drama series that I liked very much called akihabara@DEEP though i dont really know if it’s that popular because its not really a love story. I highly recommend it though! It’s where I got my nickname.
