Manga Review: Kamichama Karin Chu Vol. 4
Well this week’s Kamichama Karin episode was another horrendous filler which can be described as “Micchi shoots a fireball, saves everyone then dies while Himeka ponders who proposed to Karin simultaneously eating cake with the magical cat.” Anyway stupidity aside I went to Kinokuniya this week and purchased volume 4 of the chu series…where there’s some hawt Kazune x Karin action as well as some hawt moving filler free plot. So anyway Karin is in panic because of the bad dream she has where everyone dies except for Jin who only loses his memories. Because of this she’s been stressed out and not doing too hot in school. Kazune comforts her and tells her that they will change the bad future together. Meanwhile, Himeka returns from her travels, although they find her sleeping in the bushes at the park like a bum o_O;.
Meanwhile the Karasumas, ok just Kirio and “Rika” have been cooking a plot of their own to revive their dad, the evil professor (who actually they did mention in this week’s filleristic episode…or should I say he made a retarded appearance?) Kazune & Karin know all the bad deeds are cooking at the high school so they go over there and “disguise” themselves in the high school uniforms. Karin of course gets all scared and Kazune lets her cling on to him. She of course wishes for them to be able to go to high school and beat the bad future together.
In the meantime, the Karasuma group has lured Himeka into their trap and in this scene we basically find out that “rika” is actually the other Himeka who came from the future. Himeka goes “I thought all of this ended?” Well Himeka-chan I thought it did too, but you know how mangakas run out of ideas so they bring old plot back? Yea.
Soon as Kazune & Karin break in to save Himeka, before they can do their love spell thing…Evil Himeka goes and kisses Kazune. Naturally this makes Karin jealous, disrupts her concentration and makes the spell fail. Because of this the Good Himeka ends up in the evil clutches of the Karasumas!! BWAHAHAHH! The only sane Karasuma left is Kirika, but the impression I got is that she’s just tired of her brother’s shit lol.
The next few days Micchi seems really down. Even when everyone goes Karaokeing he’s distanced and leaves early. Karin has no clue but Kazune explains to her later that he told Micchi about the bad future that Karin saw…where Micchi will die. A few days later Micchi says he is dropping out of their little party and gives Kazune back his ring. He says he doesn’t want to die but Kazune insists that they will change the future. Micchi tells him that if Kazune was like his dad, he wouldn’t put Micchi’s life in danger…but in the end:
Karin is incredibly distressed, and Kazune is pissed at Micchi. The group is falling apart and Himeka’s been captured. Kazune randomly approaches Karin asking to kiss her because she seems jealous of Evil Himeka.
After he kisses her, he apologizes and walks off. Karin feels like all the men are useless in her group so she decides to be the “WOMAN WHO SAVES HER FAMILY!” (lol) She and Suzune and Shi-chan are on a mission but as usual Karin ends up being useless until Kazune comes to save her. In the end they all find out that Jin is actually the reincarnation of the Karasuma’s father, similarly as how to Karin is the reincarnation of Kujou professor’s wife or whatnot.
So the lesson of this post is, the anime sucks, buy the manga.

Yea I don’t even watch the anime anymore TxT and who knows whats gonna end up happening there.. sooner or later karin dies and himeka becomes Suzune’s mother..

Point taken, I read Kamichama Karin, thought it was cute and pretty good, watched about 2 episodes before it all went down the drain and I dropped it. Haven’t gotten a hold of Kamichama Chu though ..

Yea they dressed in nekomimi to try to convince Micchi to not leave the team, but as you can see it failed ^^;
Also - this isn’t the English version, when I go to Kinokuniya I only buy Japanese ones…and I scanlate them for the blog readers
Thank you sooo much! Great summary! I can’t wait for it to be available in english like the first eight volumes! I agree with you, the anime has me all confused! I keep going back and forth to my manga library to see where in the manga did this and than happen! lol! I better learn this is all a big fat filler!

This is sorta like a spoiler…Iunno..But I heard that Kazune-kun dies not to long after Suzune is born which is why Suzune thinks that he left with another woman since Karin from the future is keeping it a secret? Omg is this true? Cuz if it is I’d be so sad T.T But I’m hoping that this is the bad future they are trying to prevent and maybe it won’t happened?
