Hanazakari no Kimitachi E - 08

So while Sano’s frozen exterior is starting to thaw a bit and he’s getting more shy around Mizuki…I am still not “supportive” of their relationship. Someone mentioned in a previous entry comment that in the Taiwanese version it was more romantic, while in the Japanese version it’s more comedic. I gotta admit I laugh out loud at least once every time I watch these episodes…but as I’ve mentioned in every one of my posts, I really wish Mizuki would end up with Shuichi. Or at least - I’d like to see Shuichi discover she’s a girl, have some cheesy hug/kiss scene and then get rejected before she runs off to Sano. :[ The “sidestory” this week of “oh noes the school is gonna close let’s collect money” wasn’t that interesting. My favorite part was in the end where Shuichi told Sano “I like Mizuki and I won’t lose to you.” Ganbare Shuichi > No tag for this post.

    I agree with you, I’m kinda hoping for some Shuichi + Mizuki moments. Hopefully there will be *some* scenes as the drama is almost at an end! Next episode however looks interesting from what I’ve seen in the preview.

    Ohh… i am also rooting for Nakatsu.But, as far as any shoujo manga goes, the “destined” pair will always be together despite the other parties being more “desirable”. I have not seen the Taiwanese adaptation but since it is a trend that it will closely follow the manga, just like you said in a previous post, mizuki will go for izumi.

    i totally agree with you. as much as i love Oguri Shun’s acting as Sano I prefer Mizuki ending up with Shuichi. Ikuta Toma plays him so well. To me Mizuki and Shuichi would have so much fun together as a couple rather than her being with Sano. I’m gonna hate the part where Shuichi looses to Sano.

    To be fair in the manga Shuichi was annoying & spastic rather than comical. There he had redeeming moments when he was a great friend that made up for his annoying-ness. That’s why in a way I am for him in the series verses the manga. Here in the drama he is seriously sympathetic thus all the “please end up with Shuichi” has resulted.

    BTW it is very hard calling him Shuichi when I’m used to him being Nakatsu (did I spell that right… hmmmm…)!

    Sano is so much more appealing in the manga, probably because you have access to his feelings & inner dialogue that you wouldn’t necessarily in the drama. Plus Shun really plays him as a cold jerk.

    So yeah, I also would rather she end up with Nakatsu in the drama, even as a hardcore canon fan, but it’s not gonna happen.

    I do find this show watchable, it’s just not as good as I hoped it would be. Ah well. Not like I paid for it. ^^

    this series really cheer up my life..i cant stop laughing and keep my admiration towards nakatsu..he’s too good as a friend and as a boyfriend as well..if i were mizuki i would open my heart just for him.;p…he’s so cute..i’ve watched hana kimi*taiwan verse*..to be frank,japanase series is far more interesting than taiwan series,really!eventhough in taiwan series there are a lot of romantic scenes but i do prefer japanese one because the main reason why mizuki gets transferred to the school is well eleborated unlike the taiwan series which stresses more on the relationship between the main actor and actress..:)..i cant wait to see the final episode of this series..

    @apexantapex:yup you are right on that one. You really hit the jackpot on what I really wanted to share. In the series compared to the manga, we can only see and “hear” what is going on the heads of shuichi and mizuki but there is nothing from izumi of the sort. That is probably why people are rooting for nakatsu more. In the manga, it was made clear early on the feelings of sano towards ashiya via the mind monologues presented.

    Btw, i guess, we’re still speaking too early coz the series does not yet touch any of the material where mizuki is in danger and *ahem* sano comes to her rescue. Maybe by that time, the tide would have turned and Sano would get the spotlight.

    Well, I really enjoy how they are portraying nakatsu’s character. I guess the producers of this show listened to what fans had to say when they were making the storyboard for the dorama (there are a lot of fanservice as well as *ehem* pairings). My only complaint is that there were more interesting characters that were left out and it seems the most vivid one’s wont even get a cameo the least.

    So my favorite scene is obviously the last one when Shuichi finally confesses (in a cute way too) :)

    Random question: what’s that perky theme music they keep playing from? Is it a song? =?

    Sano’s cold-”coolness” ego is starting to wear down a bit, yeah. That’s great. You really notice the change in this episode, and every time he speaks (practically), I’m thinking “he’s gonna say it!: ‘Mizuki, I know you’re a girl. And…I-I-uh… *get interrupted by some idiot XD*’”
    But yeah, he’s getting shy-er as well… Because, well… Sano knows she’s a girl, but Mizuki’s completely unaware and does things unknowingly… X]

    I guess it’s usually more appealing for the second male lead to end up with the heroine rather than the typical main prince-charmingXheroine.
    And if only in Meteor Garden 2 Shanchai would WAKE UP AND DITCH DAOMING SI FOR… What’s he called again..? Oh, yeah, Lei.

    So cute how Nakatsu ended up telling Sano “I like Mizuki, *points at Sano,* and I’m not going to lose to you.”

    In the Taiwanese version, I wanted XiuYi (TW Nakatsu) to end up with RuiXi (TW “Mizuki;” I don’t even like the TW RuiXi though!).
    But here, I want Sano to end up with Mizuki.
    Maybe ’cause my subconscience tells me that I want the heroine to end up with the hotter guy? LOL.
    Well, that’s not exactly my reason… I hope.

    Same here, I’d much prefer ShuichixMizuki.
    And yes, the Taiwanese version IS more romantic. It’s also really funny as well.

    Yaaay. I’m totally waiting for the next episode, since it’s the Nakatsu-cheating one! *cheer*

    I wish him luck. I feel bad for him, because I read the manga, and I can only hope the best for the guy. And man, Ikuta Toma really can make sad faces.

    And Sano’s getting more interesting. Seems a bit old though. @___@
