I'm on episode six, waiting for seven patiently, but it's nice see you discuss something I'm actually watching. :P I understand your plight about the game being better than the anime. Most manga I've read tend to stray or disappoint in their anime form. Naruto, Ah! My Goddess, Claymore (so far), & a couple of others held true. Most others change. I've always wondered if it were a marketing thing. I personally watched all of Full Metal Alchemist, then read (and continue to read) the manga. Totally different, but just as good. I guess it depends on what you like first, I preferred the Anime of FMA slightly. As for Plot Device, I mean Nona, I wasn't aware she was anything more than what she is in the anime. But she makes a pretty good plot device, don't you think. when I was like 5 I used to watch She-Ra, and there is a character named "Peek-a-bloo" (She was half Peacock) who's sole purpose was to be kidnapped. 3 Episodes, 3 kidnappings.
