Lovely Complex - 19 + 20

So I finally managed to get my hands on these episodes. In 19, they went on a date and basically finally established that they are “boyfriend and girlfriend” (to the entire olympic stadium but that’s beside the point.) In episode 20, Mimi shows up, threatens to shorten Risa’s life, but eventually Risa wins because she has the guts to face rejection, while Mimi is just a 12 year old tall loli who can’t face anything. I hate tall loli’s, it’s almost like a trap! Then again, I also hate the 20something lolis, who are actually in their 20s but could look like they’re 12 (coughmoetancough). I never liked Mimi as a character, but I found it sad how she’s voiced by the lady who voiced Miaka in Fushigi Yuugi. Wow, the woman who had a lead role in one of the most popular shoujo animes of the 90s, is brought down to voice a 2 episode character O_O;. Also, for you RisaxOotani fans, you’ll be happy to know they kissed again in episode 20.

    I remember hearing something happened in her personal life that made her dial it down. Marriage, children or something like that. I still remember her replacing Sailor Moon back in the day. She has a great voice. There is no need to be a big name seiyuu.

    I really loved the scene in 19 when risa and atsushi are sitting on the bench. Risa is crying like always and atsushi is clutching his chest. It was right after kanzaki left and atsushi called risa his kanojo. Brief but almost as good as the last 5 minutes of 18.

    I thought episode 20 was not as good as 19+18. All that mimi stuff went too fast. The scene where risa and mimi could not pay the bill and had to call atsushi was pretty funny.

    Yea the bill pay was funny
    Also I also liked the scene where hes like “I think you caught it~” referring to his heart :D

    As far as the seiyuu I do recall she did sailormoon for a bit until Mitsuishi Kotono took over completely for the rest of the series

    I just watched nineteen. Oh, jeez, Mimi is a super, bitchy loli-pants. :D

    Yes but it does ruin the surprise since in the manga she was all “oh look at innocent me” and when he leaves the room she became all … psychotic.

    haha very nice higurashi opening. i remember either you or omni saying that this season’s OP song was not as creepy as the last. that may be true but i really think that this OP is as good or even better than the last. i think you just have to watch it a few times before you can appreciate it.

    the truth is… in the manga they also kissed but then… the plot did not went the way in the manga. for me, the manga is still the best and in the manga states why they really kissed or why otani kissed risa. i am hoping for more english scans in this…..
