Mushi-Uta - 05
So while this week was mostly a girly episode of bonding between Ladybird & Shiika…I rather enjoyed the flashback for Daisuke on his first mission, as Kakko to kill the Winter Firefly. He came up to her, while she was all alone but instead of shooting her bug, he patted her on the head. He then took her hand and told her “Let’s go, to a place where we will be accepted.” Shiika says “Is that your dream?” and follows up with “That’s good, because that means we feel the same way.” Yay XD I don’t know who said this show wouldn’t have romance but this scene is like the typical anime signal of “ROMANCE” to me >_>. I kinda feel bad for Ladybird though since she totally has a crush on Daisuke. I have a feeling she’ll like find out that he likes Shiika and be sad but get over it, or she’ll just end up dying/becoming a doll etc. I feel also bad for her because of how her dad abused her mom till she died and because she didn’t want to end up like her mom she got the “bug” and then ended up killing her dad. Anyway really enjoying the series, looking forward to next week.

both anime news network and anime-source say that the genre of this anime is ‘fantasy’, and a.n.n. say it’s also shounen. but i totally disagree like you and say that this is more romance-y than any of the above. hahaa…
i cant wait till this episode is out!! w00t!!
I’m glad someone else is enjoying this series too ^^. I personally think this is the hidden gem of the summer season but that’s just me.
While I think this show will have some romance in it (look at the OP and ED) the ominous feel of this show and the stuff I heard from the novels makes me feel that there won’t be much of it unless Beat Frog makes up their own original ending. Who knows.
Next week I’m either hoping for more action or for a reunion between Daisuke and Shiika. However, the next episode previews for this show are so random and retarded. They have nothing to do with the next episode (except for the title).
Hinano! Quick! Hop into #seriousbusiness@rizon and fire words of scorn at everyone there! lol
This should end with a huge pesticide bomb on japan.
Wait what scorn who what?
I picked up this series on your say-so. You’re right. This is pretty good. I had given the entire summer lineup a pass till this one.
(It’s kind of refreshing to see the male and female protagonists just cut to the chase and express their mutual attraction from the start. That doesn’t seem to happen much… or maybe I just don’t watch the right series. ^^)
I have to agree with your assessment of this show Hinano. It’s actually quite good.
I’m a sucker for a well done story (no matter what medium it’s in), and this show is definitely better than many I’ve seen this year. And even more impressive about it is there is a sense of inevitability about the anime. I get the feeling that, unless the creators suddenly decide to turn this into a comedy, the ending is going to be rather good (I hope).
