So despite my groaning about filler, I managed to skip through most of it so it actually made the episode much more enjoyable. I finally got JP into watching Naruto and he’s been pretty much doing the same thing with the earlier eps. The non-teamgai/narutodeidara filler this time didn’t bother me as much because I really love this whole Sasori arc and the fighting was definitely great to watch. I actually wanna pat the anime team on the back for doing a good job with the Sasori past fillers. They included a scene where they showed Sasori’s parents going off to fight and getting killed (apparently by Kakashi’s dad.) They proceed to show how Chiyo told Sasori to “make his own puppets” and he ended up making ones of his parents. Unfortunately when he realized he couldn’t use them to replace his real parents, things went downhill for the poor lad.

At the end of the episode was more sneak peak scenes & trailers for the Naruto Shippuuden movie, which is actually an original story in case you don’t know which their tagline is “NARUTO DIES”…and it looks like at the hands of some big purple dragon. There’s also this blonde “miko” who looks annoyingly a lot like Hinata with blonde hair. Whatever. It features Naruto, Sakura, Lee and Neji. I don’t recall if there was anyone else. The movie will be out in Japan on August 4. Here’s a few screenshots:

So in case you forgot what Higurashi is REALLY like, this episode was here to remind you. So the difference here was that at this point, Satoko was aware that someone was after Rika but Rika chose to die anyway. Satoko then found Rika’s body herself without Keiichi present. She screamed and realized the guys who killed Rika were now after her because she was a witness. She ran away from them towards the bridge and while in the original she pushed Keiichi off it, this time she ended up falling off it herself. She then managed to survive but when she walked towards her school she found that everyone died from the gas poisoning. At this point she’s the “sole” survivor and goes into an “awake” coma. Oiishi tries to get info out of her about the gas leak, but later realizes that she knows about Rika not the gas leak. By the time he comes back to the hospital, she’s been killed by ignorant nurses..who are prolly in cahoots with those guys that killed Rika. (Whether because they’re in cahoots or because they hate Satoko’s family I don’t know.)
