For those who don’t know this manga, its by the author who did Full Moon wo Sagashite and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. (Nobody cares about Time Stranger Kyoko and ION because they were short and didn’t have an anime produced after them - OVA doesn’t count.) So the manga basically came out a few months after Full Moon ended and I immediately picked it up because I’m a big Tanemura Arina fan girl (and I’m crying GAR tears because I couldn’t go to San Diego Comic Con to meet her.) So while the manga was sorta bimyou~ for a while, it seems things are finally starting to close in although I had a few WTF moments while reading this volume.

So basically now that Haine knows that Shizumasa that she was always with is actually Takanari, she’s in a dilemma because she likes the same “guy” but he’s actually 2 identical twins. I guess she SHOULD go with the one who she actually spend more time with, rather than the guy always sick in bed (and I have a feeling she’ll end up with Takanari anyway.) Maybe the other one will croak or something.

As common in all Tanemura heroines, they totally want the guy but act like an innocent maiden, slap him and run off crying.

But of course later on, Haine realizes the err of her ways and while he’s sleeping on the couch she goes up to him and kisses him.

Unfortunately that somehow turns his hormone drive on full speed ahead and he totally pins her down on the couch. In order to get out of this, she lies and says she only did it because he looked like Shizumasa. He of course gets hurt/pissed and lets her go. Later on though she falls off a cliff trying to save her sister and when (somehow she lives) Takanari comes down to get her, she tells him that she’s sorry she lied. He asks her why she did such a thing and she says “Because I love you.”

While everyone is on a camping trip and Maora & Magure have their mini-yaoi session (does it count as yaoi if the other one is a trap?) they spot Ushio getting it on with the nurse (man).

Whoa wtf? So apparently Ushio’s just one big ho! She’s been giving her “body” out to guys (body only hence why no kissing) because……..she is apparently a raging lesbian who wants Haine. Bah I really hate the raging lesbian best friend who gets pissed when her best friend likes people of the opposite sex instead of her. Bleh.

When Haine sees this she’s of course hurt/shocked and when Maora asks Ushio to talk to Haine about this, Ushio just tells him that she hates him and walks away.

When Haine goes to talk to this guy she saw Ushio with he shows Haine an echange diary between him and Ushio. Haine notices it constantly talks about a canary and the guy tells Haine that the “canary” is actually a symbolism for her. It basically says how “I can’t have the canary but watching it be happy from a far is enough for me.” (CCS anyone?) If that wasn’t sickening enough when Haine goes to talk to Ushio about all the men she’s been screwing, Ushio gets pissed and kisses her. (How many people have to kiss Haine in this manga? lol)

She then proceeds to tell her that “it’s all or nothing” and tells her she never wants to see her again.

Haine is upset but her stepmom talks to her and gives her some advice. Haine makes a decision and the next day she quits being the bodyguard for the koutei (Takanari). She takes back her necktie and goes to bring it to Ushio. Before she gets there, she cuts her hair to the same length as it was when she first met Ushio. She tells her that she wants to “start over” again and that she will only be “Ushio’s”. (YUCK someone shoot me)

Free her from what? Being a lesbian?

I feel sorry for Takanari, although I’m sure he’ll get Haine in the end. Tanemura-sensei doesn’t draw yuri manga.
