Mushi-Uta - 03
SO I finally figured out the whole plot behind this anime. This is like the insect version of Romeo & Juliet. (I just hope they don’t die at the end.) At school Daisuke can’t stop thinking about Shiika and his project group teases him for it. They get into a discussion on bugs and Lady Bird girl (whatever her real name is) flips out when they say that bugs are disgusting. Later on she tells her team mates that there’s a “firefly” person in the park today and she wants to capture them and make them her ally.
If you haven’t figured it out by now, the “firefly” is Shiika and after their date in the park, she realizes Daisuke is I guess a bug destroyer and she pushes him away then runs off. Daisuke in the meantime gets a call from HIS team mates telling him there’s a few exterminations to be done and that Lady Bird is there as well. Daisuke goes and changes into his battle suit (and somehow his hairstyle changes along with it) and then he runs into a little girl who’s crying for her mom. Turns out the little girl has a bug and when he kills the bug the girl dies, and Lady Bird sees all this from the bushes and screams “NOOO!!”
Hm so yea it looks like bug of the person gets killed/person dies with it. (Where have I seen this plotline before? Jinchuuriki gets extracted, human dies? Hmm…*looks 2 posts below*) Oh well I’m just interested in the Daisuke x Shiika parts. I think bugs are gross and should be smushed and shot at anyway.

i dont like spiders =/ HAHAA
The gears that these guys wear and the ability people get when infected by these bugs (yewww) reminds me of cyberpunk - only this time, it’s not “cyberpunk”, it’s “bugpunk”.
this is exciting! good job.
i dunno if there’s any spider bugs in this show.
most seem like the flying type.
Without wishing to get too serious or anything, if you knew how vital insects are to the ecosystem, perhaps you wouldn’t be so eager to see them all “smushed”.
Yeah yeah, you don’t care what I think but someone’s got to stick up for ‘em.
I know … but I still do not like many insects, like cockroaches and spiders.
I forgot where I read this, but it seems that the Mushitsuki don’t “die” when their Mushi gets killed, rather, they become emotionless/souless/dollish or something like that LOL Those whom their Mushi have already been killed are called the “Fallen”.
So they become a vegetable…eh same as death to me XD
I’m assuming they become doll-like. This is why Shiika is special in that she regains her soul after the 4 years. The prologue showed her bug getting shot.
The shot-up bugmen are then collected by the Tokkan, ie the hero’s current group, for god knows what.
I think this is the best show of the current season, topping even Zero no Tsukaima 2.
Oh I was wondering how the hell she got her bug shot yet was prancing around all fine. I also thought Daisuke showed interest in her because of some rooted guilt that he “took her soul away” or something.
