This is why Shiika is special in that she regains her soul after the 4 years. The prologue showed her bug getting shot. The shot-up bugmen are then collected by the Tokkan, ie the hero's current group, for god knows what. I think this is the best show of the current season, topping even Zero no Tsukaima 2.
