Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai - 02
Alright so from everyone’s comments I’m being told last week was actually a continuation of the previous arc which ended season 1. I guess the next arc began with this episode, and according to wikipedia it’s the Yakusamashi-hen which is an anime original arc. It’s supposed to include information from season 1 that was left out. I spoiled myself rotten and read the wikipedia page for the final game so I sorta know what’s gonna happen. I find it interesting how they do the animation half serious, and half that looks as chibi and silly as Di Gi Charat. (Boy that show is influencing a lot of animes this season ain’t it!)
So most of the episode is followed with Rika now wondering when the hell is this reset gonna end. Everyone’s back at school and the first thing is Keiichi having a trap fight with Satoko (although it went to great proportions this time around). Also Mion has now transferred to Keiichi’s school to “watch over” Satoko. That’s SOOO ironic to me considering how I recall her chaining Satoko to a cross and repeatedly beating and stabbing her. Later they have a game of onigokko (or whatever its called) which is basically like a hide & seek/tag mix.
Rena is the last one not an oni but to prolong the time limit, she’s all like “its ok Keiichi you can touch me..since it’s you” which stops him in his tracks and apparently also gives him a boner. Yay Keiichi x Rena ftw! XD Turns out Mion & Shion also lied and pretended to be oni’s when they really werent. Also during the tickle scene Keiichi said “How can you guys all minagoroshi on me” (which is like everyone “killing” him at once). This whole scene may have seemed pointless but to me it was basically spitting out clues on what this arc may be about. At the end Rika thought Satoko may have remembered something from the previous reset but seems it was just a coincidence.

Glad I’m not the only one…
So Keiichi getting a boner is now considered Keiichi x Rena…….sigh.
I didn’t say it was considered…I’m just asking them to throw me a bone for my higurashi shipping. I’ve been KeichixRena since season 1 ;P
LMAO @ Shion transferring to be a Satoko nanny. Apparently, Shion is a reborn Christian. Ha, haaaa.
I’m glad I’m not the only who noticed that all the chibi work looked eerily like Di Gi Charat. Satoko managed to pull off that Dejiko look all too well.
Hmmm. So for now, It seems like Rika is still the only who consistently remembers previous “realities?”
I was rather hoping Keiji’s flash of remembrance at the end of season 1 wouldn’t be isolated and we’d get him in with Rika on trying to change things in later “realities.” But then again, the idea of various people having “flashbacks” to the previous “realities” at various times is sort of intriguing too. Of course, It also seems like the Rika in the last scene of S1 and Rena’s flashback in Reunion might even be going a bit Nihilistic, or at least be despairing of ever breaking the cycle of June. That could bring another interesting wrinkle into the game. Sorta like when Bill Murray’s Character in Groundhog’s day spent a few weeks worth of groundhog days just committing suicide in increasingly spectacular ways.
Man, this is one messed up groundhog’s day, is all I can say.
lol yes messed up groundhog days a good way to put it

lol, Keiichi got a boner. xD That makes the Rena/Keiichi fangirl in me happy.
DI GI CHARAT!
This is interesting. Apparently, if you play the new theme song, “Naraku no Hana”, backwards, some parts sound exactly like the first theme song.

I thought it was interesting. Ha.
yea haha I noticed that =D
I think its just that weird voice that they play at the beginning of higurashi no naku koro the song and the voice that they play at the end of naraku no hana that sound familiar cause they probably made it to be like that.
The first opening used a reversed version of that - the second opening’s chanting means “cannot escape.” Either “You can’t” or “I can’t.” Either one.
It’s the second OP that is the right way around.
If you hear this season’s opening in its entirety backwards, it sounds like a different new song they made, only if anyone can understand and translate the backwards portion from Japanese to English, since I don’t understand the words entirely.
i listened to it backwards…..the words dont make “sense” backwards if thats what youre thinkin
