Hanazakari no Kimitachi E - 02
So as I watch this drama some parts are still confusing (I’m probably just as lost as Mizuki) but I’m slowly starting to get into the groove. So the doctor figures out that Mizuki is a girl and knows that she has fake medical records. He tries to get it out of her, but is so violent that she runs off when Sano’s dog comes to her rescue. She runs off and then runs into Sano who then she has a chat with regarding his high jumping career. She says that she will try to change his mind and nothing he can do about it. Mizuki also discovers that when Sano gets drunk, he becomes a kiss devil.
Apparently he’s kissed like every single guy in the dorm room lol. For some reason or another (or maybe hes just got the “feeling”) Shuichi has the hots for Mizuki. He’s constantly having an aura of “love” everytime he puts his hand on her shoulder or even stares at her a certain way. Then he goes and pouts that she’s a guy and goes out screaming “I LOVE WOMEN!!!” IN the meantime the school is having a beauty contest for both the girls and the boys schools together.
The doctor once again approaches Mizuki asking her why she transferred to the school because he plans to expel her. She explains that she came here because she wants to make Sano jump again. She says because he once saved her from a bunch of thugs in America, they stabbed his foot and that’s the reason he quit. She says she feels guilty and wants him to “fly” again. Later on, Sano hands in a permanent resignation from the high jump team or whatever that thing he’s on.
So anyway the beauty pageant approaches. Sano as usual wants to ditch it but his dog drags him over and the dog ends up winning for the male side lol. When Mizuki is about to change, the guys play a prank and take all her clothes away thinking this will score them major points for the competition. Luckily the doctor was around to help her and she came out dressed…as well a girl. SO it’s like a trap within a trap! So yea Mizuki ended up winning for the girls side and at the celebration party Sano got drunk again..and almost kissed her, until Shuichi got in the way…so there you go ladies, some live action yaoi.

You know right now I’m beginning to understand how Shuichi feels about the Mizuki thing, ’cause that Sano X Shuichi kiss is starting to stir something deep in my heart too.

Yeah, i have noticed that this series does deviate quite a bit, but the show is still very interesting and i loooove the casting so i am very excited to see how they bring this story about. I am a little disappointed that Sano doesn’t seem to kno that Mizuki is a girl yet though >_
Haha it deviates *alot* from the manga version but in a good way. Firstly, Mizuki is so less hyper and typical shoujo heroine in the drama, which is a good thing. I also really like the reason why Sano quit and why it links Mizuki, because in the manga Sano quit because he saved some other girl and Mizuki just kinda pops out of the blue lol

Also I was wondering if it took you a long time to download this episode. The first episode didn’t take me very long but I got the torrent for this episode YESTERDAY and RIGHT NOW it’s at 3%. WTF?
I kinda prefer Mizuki much more hyper though. Maki seems still stuck in her Nobuta role, especially during that dress+magician scene.
And I kinda hated that she was the girl that he saved. That’s just too classical, even to the point of being cheesy. I’d much prefer that she was just spontaneously popping out of the blue into the scene for no reason. I mean, come on, don’t hold back or compromise. Just let it all hang loose.

It is pretty good so far.
I briefly watched the taiwan edition, it is unbearable.
I actually have fallen in love with this show. I haven’t read the manga and I haven’t seen the TW version either. I thought the story-line didn’t sound to interesting as well. But after episode 2, I’m toootally hooked. Can’t wait for more!!!
ohh its alittle different from the manga cuz in the manga her friend Juliet or something comes ^^ (and i think in the manga it isn’t cuz of her that he is injured)

I have not watched live action before but reading this blog made me decide to go watch. SARS was subtitling it and I watched it and loved it! Don’t seem to find any manga scanlations though.
If Mizuki just popped out of… Nowhere.. Well, that’d make her no more than a rabit fangirl.
If it was all Mizuki’s fault, then she’s probably doing it all outta guilt.

I’ve watched both the TW version and this (up to eps 7), and I have to say that the TW is.. superior. I know it starts up rather campy, and the acting is rather over the top, but the story is better, and the relationship between Mizuki and Sano is much better portrayed. Like, you actually can see how her presence is motivating Sano. Its not that apparent here. And I have to admit that Wu Chun is a much better Sano than Shun Oguri. Honestly!
The Japanese version feels rushed so far, despite having the same amount of eps as the TW version. But its saving grace is its humour and comedic timing. It made me laugh out loud many times. The TW version is far too… campy for that. Its better for the touching scenes.
I would recommend watching both the TW and Jap versions, if you have the time. =)
