Umisho - 02
So while this episode had less fanservice and wasn’t as funny as last week’s, a few parts still made me laugh here and there. Actually the part with the shaving really creeped me out. I mean I know some swimmers shave their bodies in order to have less resistance in the water but….it just seemed weird to do in an anime. It almost felt like I was watching Ren & Stimpy except in R&S we probably would have seen a hairy back rather than a smooth shiny one.
I guess the episode focus is “don’t judge a book by its cover” in a sense that Kaname(-chan’s) idolized senpai who he thinks is an innocent angel…is really a dirty ho who has interests in watching porn, shaving backs (?_?) and wearing thongs & garter belts under her already short school uniform. Also the plot between Amuro & Kaname and the whole mermaid thing seems to slowly but surely be unveloping so I’m looking forward to that. I also love how in any serious scene, there will always be a panty shot. Oh and I’m so sick of the blushing abuse T_T.

You’re looking for romance in this show? Somehow, I have the feeling you’re going to be disappointed.
Did you check out Seto no Hanayome? That’s got mermaids and romance and slapstick comedy that some people seem to like. I figured I would shoot that out as a comparable show.

Yes everyone & their grandma told me about Seto no Hanayome and I really disliked that show since episode 1. All the yelling and crap reminded me of excel saga except worse.
I’m not sure I want to watch Umisho. Right now I’m only sticking to “Romeo x Juliet”, “Lovely Complex” and “Heroic Age” (though the latter makes me think in each episode “Why do I bother?!”)

what pissed me off really bad at the start was the green hair girl’s nonstop smile. its like she has cramps in her facial muscles or something
You can read the raws and not miss much, this is pretty much fanservice in the same line as Girls Bravo.
They are pretty much making 3 chapters into 1 episode so 12 episodes=39 chapters (3-4 volumes).
Also in relation to Shizuoka-chan … I would not say she is a ho but she certainly have some … unusual habits (trust me, you get what I mean in the “swimsuit cafe”) and Okimura figured out how she really is.

i’m watching like 3x more anime than you are at the same time, waiting for the next episode to be upped. this is brewing up to be a great romantic comedy. romance is about feeling, not the physical actions you’re thinking. then you’ll be able to appreciate it that much more.
