So surprisingly this week’s episode was some serious business. There was actually not that much fanservice. I almost start to think that episode 1 was super fanservicy to attract the fappers viewers, but the fanservice has pretty much died down as the episodes go by. I hope that means that in some way or another I’ll get my romance (despite everyone telling me it’s hopeless… I have faith in the anime team’s “creativity”.) So now Amuro moved into Kaname’s house since hers was destroyed last week. Darn, they almost kissed…if it wasn’t for the cursed thong.

I know at this point Amuro’s feelings towards Kaname are like a playtoy. Hopefully that will change though and surprise us all (and doesn’t end up like certain harem shows about guys on islands and endless nosebleeding slapsticks.) They go touring and then Amuro runs off. Kaname hears from her dad that her granny “disappeared”. Naturally Kaname things she died and he sees Amuro crying when he finally finds her. It turns out she was crying from a stomach ache. Uh wtf? Sometimes I think her whole cheeryness is just one big fat coverup. My guess is her grandma permanently turned into some sort of fish/mermaid that can’t “leave the water” hence why she’s “in the sea.”

Seriously the theme song for this manga should be “KOZUKURI SHIMASHO! HA!” In case you’ve been under a rock as far as Eva’s concerned, a 2nd “OC” manga has been released for Evangelion dealing with everyone in mostly the school setting. I got the first 2 volumes over a year ago and bought the 3rd on since I happened to run on it. If the characters weren’t out of character already this volume totally flipped their personalities upside down. In fact I forgot if I was reading an Eva manga or Love Hina with Evangelion characters. I mean face in crotch is an Akamatsu Ken trademark that should just NO LONGER BE DUPLICATED.

The book also includs chapter covers of random “real world” versions of Rei and Asuka. While I enjoy things like that for some reason when all of it is squished into one thing especially after reading the “serious” eva manga, it just feels so…wrong. Continue Reading »

So this week is the camping episode and the animators made sure that we all knew that Nobuko has an F cup. I thought they’d really censor or even cut out the bath scene but to my surprise they didn’t. They even added a “UMI DA!” scene which I don’t recall in Sumomo’s story. Also this week they apparently changed the whole Sumomo side to Nona side during the nightly Test of Courage.

So I guess they’re taking the route of making Sumomo a little “jealous” of all the scenes of Nona and Tsuwabuki. In Sumomo’s story, he ended up doing the test with her and they walked over to some abandoned shack and that’s where they discussed the stars. The beach scene in the anime was cute though so I’m not complaining. The only bizarre thing to me was at the end when Tsuwabuki got up and didn’t say anything to her because “she has someone she likes”. I don’t recall him being jealous in the game until he saw Sumomo giving cookies to the teacher.

So for those of you guys who were complaining about the Ootani line, he said it this week so rest assure! So Risa has disbanded the Maity club and the fangirls are also crying because they found out that he has a fiance. In the manga they actually showed his fiance, I wonder if we’ll even see her in the anime. So anyway Risa and Ootani are back to being the “laughing combo” much to Nobuko’s dismay. A big basketball even it coming up and Risa says she’ll cheer him on. Continue Reading »

For those who don’t know this manga, its by the author who did Full Moon wo Sagashite and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. (Nobody cares about Time Stranger Kyoko and ION because they were short and didn’t have an anime produced after them - OVA doesn’t count.) So the manga basically came out a few months after Full Moon ended and I immediately picked it up because I’m a big Tanemura Arina fan girl (and I’m crying GAR tears because I couldn’t go to San Diego Comic Con to meet her.) So while the manga was sorta bimyou~ for a while, it seems things are finally starting to close in although I had a few WTF moments while reading this volume. Continue Reading »

Good episode this week (probably because it didn’t stray from the storyline.) So Karin takes Kirika and brings her back to their house. When Kirika wakes up she realizes her secret’s out and tells Karin a story of how she decided to live her life as a man. She says when they were younger her brother, Kirio was really ambitious with the whole kamika thing and Kirika didn’t wanna be left behind. She then decided to act like a man, cut her hair and “follow her brother” but now she realizes that maybe it wasn’t a good idea. Karin then says that it’s not true because she “fell in love with the male Kirika-senpai”. Kirika goes on to say how she idolized Karin because she could be a goddess and still be an ambitious “girl”. Continue Reading »
