Hanayome to Papa - 12 (Finale)

Published by Hinano at 10:24 pm under Hanayome to Papa

So this drama has finally reached its conclusion although I personally thought the ending for Proposal Daisakusen was better than this one even though ironically, I got the “kiss and get married” ending in this drama. I guess because this was exactly what I wanted it almost felt like a predictable disappointment. Not saying the ending was bad but I guess I wished something better would have happened. Anyway Aiko’s dad drags her to Shizuoka yelling at her that he’s more sad seeing her unhappy than him being “lonely” without her.

However when they get there, she hears Seiji discussing his plans on taking over the inn with his father. She feels guilty and once again breakup/crying part 5 and she runs off. (I’m so sick of her running off like some tragic Shakespeare heroine) Wow all that driving for nothing. She also finds out that Narumi lost the wedding competition to his own father. She apologizes but he says that she tried her best and it was good. He also says he is going to go start his own company and Aiko is prepared to go with him. However, when they have dinner to discuss it, Narumi says he won’t take her and he will go alone - because he doesn’t want her leaving her important “things” behind.

Meanwhile Seiji and his mom find out that his dad’s surgery could have fatal risks. Seiji begins panicking not knowing what to do and Aiko’s dad urges her to take a day off to see him at the hospital. Before his surgery, Seiji’s father comes over to them and tells Seiji he won’t have him take over the family business and asks Aiko’s dad if he will allow Seiji to marry Aiko. Ken is shocked but along with Aiko and Seiji eventually becomes really happy. Before he goes, Seiji tells him that one day he’ll take over the business when he is ready but until then he wants his dad to be healthy.

That night Makihara comes back to the office to find that Narumi sent an email to his father who then replied back saying “It’s about time you try to surpass me.” He also says that Makihara will now take the position he is leaving and she says that they may become “rivals”. In the meantime, Aiko goes to the bar and asks for the letter from her mom again. She reads it and both her dad and Minako (as well as herself) cry because the letter talks about how her mother had no regrets having the baby and that Aiko is “proof” of her and her father’s love.

Soooo 1 year later Aiko and Seiji finally get married. At the reception, everyone is there including Narumi. The bar girl is now dating that young guy who worked with Aiko’s dad. Also the dads are asked to give a speech (Oh i forgot to mention Seiji’s dad’s surgery went fine) and during his speech, Aiko’s dad chokes and almost starts crying. Just then Minako and his coworkers run on to the stage, shove a guitar and a mic stand on him and he sings that song that he always sings (which I believe is now being sold as a CD single. Oh Japan.)

So then we are shown Aiko’s dad waking up, making breakfast and leaving the house all on his own. Aiko is no longer there but theres like 7 photo frames of her throughout the years with her being unhappy in most of them except in the most recent one where she is holding his hand and making a peace sign. In the meantime, Aiko and Seiji are off to Hawaii for their honeymoon. They think it’s their first time going somewhere alone together but little do they know that Aiko’s daddy is on the same plane heading to the same place to making their honeymoon a living hell. Scary. I think it’s this little part that made me dislike the ending. His insanity never ends!! Ahh!! XD

I always thought Minako and Aiko’s dad should end up together so Aiko can feel happy and go to Shizuoka

Yea some people use my blog to help them watch the raws because sometimes drama fansubs are slow or non existant ^^; Thanks for reading.

Anonymous I also was hoping that Ken would end up with Minako, maybe after he finally cuts the father umbilical cord he will consider it.

REts> These 2 are the only 2 dramas I was following this season. I’ve been getting picky about my dramas lately too XD

I enjoyed this drama. And there was a tad bit of Narumi/Makihara going on for me to smile about.

Gosh, I didn’t see the ending coming though. When will he let go?!
