So this week is the infamous hot springs episode but for some reason while watching it, nothing at all felt vaguely familiar. I mean I know it’s been a while since I read the manga and all, but why does it feel like 90% of the episode was made up filler? It started with Micchi having Japanfever and saying he wants to immediately visit a hot spring. So for god knows what reason, the Karasumas are invited as well. This like makes no sense, this didn’t REALLY happen in the manga did it??

So then while Karin and Himeka are taking a bath, Karin is all like “So is Kazune who you like?” Then Himeka goes on to babble that she likes him like a brother or like a father…not a lover. Wtf? Then she says “this is why I feel bad that you guys are protecting me.” Uhh what does that have to do with liking someone as family? I’m sooo confused. So then Kazune wakes up and realizes his ring is missing, but finds that Micchi has it. Micchi then pins him down on the bed and says “I know that you were created in a lab for being a test subject for the god transformaitons” or whatever. Then he demands to get something from Kazune in order to keep this whole thing a secret from Karin.

So then while Karin & Himeka are leaving the bath Kirio appears with his usual “I’ve got you now” routine. So then Karin transforms….into Kazune’s outfit and meanwhile back at the ranch Kazune transforms into Karin’s. He runs over to her and after the explanation that he doesn’t have a crossdressing hobby, Kirio transforms as well….into Kirika’s outfit. It appears that Micchi basically switched around everybody’s rings. When he managed to do this (and why) is beyond me.

So then Kazune defeats Kirika as usual and he “blasts off again” like Team Rocket. (This show is starting to show some annoyingly familiar patterns.) So then Karin and Kazune end up in the hot springs together. They face the opposite way and Kazune appologizes and also tells Karin the truth about how he was created just for the god transformation purpose and in reality doesn’t believe in an actual ‘god’. He also says without this power he has no reason to live. Karin immediately turns around and says “dont say such things when there is a girl who cares about you…even me..” and he smiles and thanks her making her all blushy. The Micchi appears to sexually harass Karin again.
