Proposal Daisakusen - 06

Published by Hinano at 9:37 pm under Proposal Daisakusen

Before I start on this week’s (really sad) episode I’d like to mention a few things. I finally got a job. It’s a really great job, it’s exactly what I wanted to do and as a bonus, it’s at a Japanese company. Due to this (and since I’m living with JP - those who voted other phail XD) it takes me a while to get to and from work, which basically drastically cuts my anime/blogging time to about 2 hours per day. With this in mind, I will either be posting shows a few days late, or if it was nothing special I’ll either do a short commentary or simply skip the episode. Friday/Saturday/Sunday shows will be okay though - so Hayate, Karin and Rabucon should not be in the above list. This is only for shows Mon-Thursday. Anyway this week Ken doesn’t really fix anything but it was an episode that made me go “NOOOO” many times.

So as usual Ken goes back to the past and the big things are now: Rei is entering an architectural contest but the entry is due on the night of her last day of being 19. In Japan turning 20 is a big deal and Rei is having trouble deciding but Ken knows that she will win this contest and he feels he can’t put his needs above hers. He tells her to enter it since it’s a good chance so she does. Ken in the meantime gives her a “good luck fortune” and goes to ask Mikio to get him a part time job so that he can get money to buy Rei’s gift.

I forgot to mention in the first picture, Mikio had a fight with his girlfriend, and then she meant to throw water at him but instead threw it at Ken. Apparently this is why Ken got sick. I don’t know why in Japan simply getting wet automatically = cold. It sure as hell takes more than that to get sick around here. Maybe they don’t have Sudafed back there. ?_? So anyway also I felt bad for Eri who got dumped by her boyfriend who was thinking more about his job than attending to her needs and felt she was an immature college girl. Anyway on the night of the deadline, Rei runs to Ken’s house to give him medicine because she heard he collapsed sick.

When she gets there, he isn’t around and she hears on a voice mail from Mikio that they invited him to a gokkon. Ken is actually at the post office waiting for her to show up with her entry and he has a door prize from the Pachinko place he worked at as well as a bottle of champagne since she’s turning old enough to drink. She ends up totally missing him and he misses her even when they had back to their respective places. Rei heads back to the architecture lab but when Ken gets home and sees a note with medicine he runs to her. Unfortunately he doesn’t make it in on time when Rei and Tada-sensei take the photo…and he ends up being in the back behind the blinds.

Upcoming Attractions: Tada-sensei proposes to Rei.

I have no idea what this show is. Real people scare me; more anime. J/K

Glad you’re back and employed. A good job will keep you off the streets.

And don’t forget Naruto. I don’t know of you’re reading the weekly manga, you at one point said you were not; but Hinata is back and this time it’s not filler!

I feel like dancing to the opening theme of Lucky Star. :)

Congrats on the job. I’m sure Suck My Star is brimming with potential photoshop hilarity, but I don’t think I have the kind of consitution needed to sit through an entire episode.

Congrats on the new job. So nice when what you have to do is the same as what you love to do too. (BTW, what is it that you do, if you don’t mind me asking?)

Anyway, I can’t believe that Ken couldn’t get her even though she’s been WAITING for him since the dawn of time. If I had a girl wanting me, I would not let make her wait like that. What a loser?!

    Grrr….

I watched it yesterday. It was really sad :( and i think ep 7 is worse.Maybe Kenzo cant do anything to change the past. And in ep 7,sensei’ll confess to Rei and it seems that Rei’ll agree
