This week brought back some nostalgia because it took place last summer when everyone was booming over the world cup (including my WC crazed boyfriend. Hehe.) Or maybe it took place during 2002 world cup?? I dunno. Anyway Ken goes back into the past this time to the college years. It’s his first year at college and the time is during the world cup. He wakes up kissing that short friend of his and then also realizes that Rei’s grandpa has been staying at their dorm apartment. He’s a very spunky old gramps and he sneaks into their college to hit on young female college students. In the photo he goes back to, they were discussing first kisses and Ken jokingly said “if you don’t have one I’ll give it to you right now!” in front of everyone, earning a slap from Rei. Eri in the meantime has met yet another “man of her dreams” who has the same keychain as her.

In order to try to occupy her grandpa, Rei brings him over to where Tada-sensei is in his architecture studio. Gramps says he doesn’t wanna stay there but then he gets into a heated discussion with Tada-sensei over the design of a family home. While they are discussing this, Ken and the gang all sneak out to go to their class. Ken wants to be in the same class as Rei and when he attempts to go change his major, the guy working there turns out to be the same guy who was a cab driver for the wedding. Disappointed Ken eventually goes back to see Gramps and Tadasensei after his class. They seem to be getting along well to the point where gramps says “you’re the man I want Rei to marry!” Eri in the meantime has met yet another “man of her dreams” who has the same keychain as her.

Gramps then forces Rei to take a photo with him. That evening, Gramps says he’s going back home to Grandma because she “can’t live without him.” He says he knows that Ken likes Rei and that if he doesn’t do something he’s an idiot. (Ashita yarou ga bakayarou!) Rei then comes over tells him that everyone asked for them to get ingredients to make okonomiyaki for eating while they watch the World Cup. After they go shopping and they come back, Ken remembers that Rei’s grandpa had died that fall and so the opportunity to see him again or give him those photos or tell him that the tamagoyaki he made was good…would never happen again.

He quickly grabs Rei’s hand and tells her that you just never know what may happen and that she should tell him all these things now. So they rush to the bus station with the photos and fortunately make it just before her grandpa boards the bus. Gramps is happy and tells Ken to take care of Rei. On the way home Ken asks Rei who her first kiss was. She is frustrated and finally tells him that Ken was her first kiss back in elementary school. (Wtf come on Rei!) Ken says there’s no way that counts and she walks away. However before she can go up the stairs, Ken grabs her hand and kisses her. He then tells her that it’s not fair that he doesn’t remember it. She slaps him twice (once for her and once for her grandpa) and then goes upstairs. However when they take the photo, she is now smiling rather than frowning.

Upcoming Attractions: They fast forward to the part where Rei and Tada are already together. The reason is, apparently Ken had cheated on Rei with another girl.
