Proposal Daisakusen - 04

Published by Hinano at 3:56 pm under Proposal Daisakusen

So this week marks the last episode of the gang in their “high school years”. Next week begin the college years. (I feel like I’m watching Saved by the Bell or something.) What makes this drama really interesting for me is every time Ken goes back into the past he can’t fix the mistake he made, but instead he comes up with a “new” solution to patch the problem. So I guess every week I’m sittin there goin “wow so how the hell is he gonna get himself outta this mess?” Although this week I was like “why didn’t he just take one of the random buttons the girl spilled on the desk, how the hell can you tell the difference?”

Anyway Ken goes back in time right at the moment when he gives his 2nd button away to some random girl. He wants to take it back but his friends are like “don’t you feel sorry for her??” He’s then like “NOOOO!” and then when he goes to ask her to get it back, she apologizes and says that she only got his button in a bet of how many 2nd buttons she could get from a bunch of guys in 1 hour. However she has so many that Ken can’t tell which one was his and then the midget friend throws one of them out the window….making Ken think that’s the one that was his. He then spends time digging in the grass for it, but then Mikio’s like “isn’t it kinda meaningless to give it to someone again after you already gave it away?”

I also found out that the reason it’s the “2nd button” rather than the first is the 2nd one is “closer to the person’s heart”. Oh Japan you are soooo cheesy. Anyway so the graduation ceremony passes. Rei also had a chat with Tada-sensei who scratched his name and year under a chem lab table during his graduation. He said that was his only “memorable event”. When they go back to the restaurant they feel that they’re not satisfied with their “graduation” so they go back to school and do silly things. Everyone also then buries their stuff in a time capsule under a tree. Just when they think they’re done, Ken says he has 1 more thing left to do.

He has Rei and (god what’s that othe girl’s name?) watch them as Ken scores the homerun he couldn’t score at the official game. He then calls the whole baseball team, and they make a little graduation ceremony for both girls, since they were the team managers. Rei even cries and then Ken explains that he didn’t want to graduate until he saw that both Rei and that girl were “moved with emotion.” Right after that the teacher comes out yelling at all of them for being so late in school.

Rei’s friend then asks the teacher to take a photo of all of them. However right before, Ken tries to confess to Rei and he gets to the “Rei no koto ga su-” and never finishes when the photo is snapped. Everyone is looking at it except for Ken who’s facing Rei with a goofy expression on his face while Rei is confused at what he was trying to say. Oh yea Ken also gave Rei his 2nd baseball uniform button instead. Nothing has changed back in the present and then Ken sees a photo of them during their college years…with Tada-sensei in it, and with a slap mark on his own face.

Upcoming Attractions: Ken goes back to the past to fix him trying to make out with Rei. Lol?

The other girl’s name is Eri, LOL. Rei and Eri… too similar in English if you ask me :X
I think Rei might have known it wasn’t Ken’s button (if he took a random one from the girl with tons) because Ken’s had a slash in it (For whatever reason)… she might have known that? What I don’t get is why Ken didn’t just honestly tell Rei he lost the button- he could even explain the whole situation of being forced to give it up, etc. Maybe Rei wouldn’t have believed it but it would be better than saying NOTHING as she congratulated him on finding someone who wanted it. Seriously, I can’t help but think he’s a lost cause sometimes. ( _ _)

Yea that’s it! God I dunno I blanked out when writing the post. Yea I dunno why he didn’t explain to her either. I’m sure she woulda understood unless she’s just materialistic.

Most of the time I really think some of these things Rei gets upset about is ridiculous. Then again, maybe it’s because I’m a guy that I don’t totally “get” some of the things she gets upset about…lol.

Meh, so far I like Eri more than Rei anyways. :P

I agree haha Rei’s little “issue” is she gets upset over dumb shit like “how dare you not find the baseball figure i’ve so creatively hidden in the library” I mean what normal guy would even think to do that…or rather normal PERSON. She’s got serious issues!! I like Eri too, she may be all about hot guys but she doesn’t have a weird problem like Rei does.

the missing cloth button does make ken a bit weird, but finally he does made masami smile again, with off course another creative ideas in exchange of the stuff he just lost. good episode ..
