Kazune puts Karin into some tough training to be a good goddess. I really wish I didn’t have my manga packed away so I could compare stuff. For some reason it just FEELS different at some points but I don’t wanna say “this didn’t happen” without checking first because I read the manga 2 years ago. Anyway Karin realizes that Kazune and Himeka live in a house with only 1 adult…their butler. She is curious where their parents are but feels that she probably shouldn’t be asking that question.

In school Karin realizes that the school president is Kirio, the guy who tried to take her ring. She wants to quickly tell Kazune and Himeka but is unable to…because Kazune’s fanclub threatens her if she comes near him and Himeka is too busy with her friend Mion. Actually they did not point this out but Mion is Korean. They specifically mention this in the manga. She has a brother too but I guess we won’t see him until later. Depressed Karin goes to sit under a tree and runs into Kirika…Kirio’s sister. (I’m sorry if I screwed up the names my brain is fogged.)

Kirika doesn’t believe that Karin is a god so she decides to test her. She changes into her goddess outfit and attacks Karin. Karin avoids it at first making Kirika thing that she really is just a regular girl…until Karin finally manages to transform. Unfortunately, her God Thunder doesn’t seem to work and she feels useless that she can’t do anything on her own. Just the Kazune appears just in time to save her, and he has changed into his god form.

After he saves her though, he passes out. Karin later finds out that the reason Kazune doesn’t often use his god transformation is because it really exhausts him. Himeka also tells Karin that one day Kazune told her that he’d protect her and Karin says she will protect Himeka too. When she asks why, Himeka response that if she isn’t protected, she will disappear. By then Kazune wakes up and then Karin feels like for once she really has a “family”. The next day, her “training” continues once again.

    Kirika is a trap! A wholesome goodness trap! :3
    SD Karin looks like SD Dejiko… so cute… so SD… soo.. sooo.. sugary that you’ll die of diabetic complications in less than 10 seconds flat.

    So far it’s following the manga more or less. The producers have taken some creative liberties here and there but by far the series is intact. Note that they improved on the ring and staff designs.
