Naruto -Shippuuden- 230
So this week the “extra” 
fillers were once again minor and the story actually moved on. I’m glad they didn’t decide to spend 2 episodes on Gaara’s extraction ceremony or that woulda really been a slap in the face. Anyway they call Chiyo to try to help Kankurou but no matter what she tries, she is unable to cure his poison ailment. In the meantime, Naruto, Kakashi, Sakura and Temari are close to the sand village with Naruto wishing they’d get faster. Back at the ranch, Deidara & Sasori have reached the Akatsuki hideout.
Anyway we see the Akatsuki Leader, is a projection as well as the other Akatsuki members. By this point I think I can recognize all of them (I was like Hey there’s Hidan!) What I didn’t get was why Deidara & Sasori were the only ones that were “not” an illusion. I guess all the other ones are on their missions to get the other bijuu. Anyway they all perform the ceremony to extract the 2 tailed bijuu out of Gaara, which ultimately kills him (incase you couldn’t tell.) Naruto’s team gets stuck in a sand storm so they have to wait for it to calm down before they continue.
At this point, Tsunade feels a bad premonition (her cup cracks….har har) and she decides to send another team to help out the Kakashi-team. That is of course the Gai sensei team, who just now came back from another mission. This scenes gives everyone the chance to see Lee, TenTen and Neji in their time skip outfits. She sends them off to the sand village as well, and by this time it seems as if Naruto’s group has reached the village just in time….before Kankuro meets his doom.
When they get there, Chiyo mistakens Kakashi for his father…and runs to attack him. I didn’t remember this scene and I had to go back to the manga to read it. I think it’s a pointless scene as it was never developed on in any of the future chapters and the only way you might get any info about it, is if you read the Kakashi Gaiden in the manga. (Maybe the Shippuuden arc will set aside 1 week to have some kind of Kakashi Gaiden special.) Overall episode was pretty good. As usual there were some “funny” drawn shots but overall followed the story well. Also I never realized that the Akatsuki Leader as an illusion…I thought he was just drawn in the manga to be like “dark” and “mysterious”. Well at least the anime manages to clear things up in that standpoint.

I just downloaded it and haven’t watched it, so I can’t really comment, but I like being first! Yay!
Naruto was more fun when I could marathon it, though this episode did thankfully lack the immense filler they’d been putting in this season’s. I think I am just going to read the manga instead though. I’m too impatient trying to watch this weekly.

Coincidentally after XOXOX died I stopped reading the weekly shounen jumps and just wait for the volume books to come out….that way I don’t have to read it twice
It was a well paced episode. I’m glad that they got to the sand by the end of the episode and the Chiyo’s voice was less annoying than I thought it would be. I guess I was presumptuous. And Kankurou didn’t look as bad as I thought he did without the mask either; although I still prefer it on.
The waiting is half the fun for an exciting story. I’m currently in an online battle over Rukia [Bleach] being alive when most think she’s dead. I’m salivating for the revelation to be in my favor and the joy of saying, “I told you so!” to about 300 people.
I’m a little to addicted to Naruto to wait for chapter book, especially in English. I feel so bad for the people who are watching the English language version… 2 years of fillers coming up! And they aren’t all good fillers either.
Out of all the time-skip outfits I think Temari was robbed. Every time I see here I want to sing Borderline by Madonna. Neji (Sp?) isn’t that well appointed either.
I am lusting for that [half spoiler] “Bird” move coming up from Guy. Hopefully it will live up to my expectations. The Sakura+Chiyo stuff will be my gauge of hope whenever it occurs.

The story line is starting to follow a familiar pattern, like in the land of waves. There was too much “flashback” in the first few shippuuden’s for my taste. Now we’re getting somewhere, and we have a nice cliffhanger at the end. But yeah, Neji’s “man skirt”… does the entire Hyuga clan have bad taste in clothing or something? From the starting sequence it looks like Hinata still “hides herself” inside a thick jacket, while Neji sports a man-skirt. Not sure why they don’t just wear ‘rasen’ jackets like Kakashi and most of the other Jounin and Chuunin…
Yea Hinata’s outfit is like a “bigger jacket” upgrade of her old one

Hinata doesn’t come until waaaaay later in the series.
And doesn’t Gaara have the one-tailed Shukaku, not the two-tailed? The two tailed belongs to some Yugito person (its a cat, yay)

everyone says diff things about the leader of the akatsuki, its pretty obvious thats it yondaime, naruto’s dad if you research on it hard enough you will also see ehy i think its yondaime and why does the jap. like 300 eps in onr of us, i know we got it from them while they we already in the series but thats just dumb!
