Ok ok I didn’t really think my post would generate blog dorama (lol) but I’m glad it got such a varied response rather than a chunk of people who either sided with me or flamed me. Oh well that was surprising yet refreshing! So in response to JP’s post, I made a video:

I know I’m beating this KyoAni/Kanon thing into a wall by now but after watching Lucky Star this has to be said. Actually I didn’t even watch it past 7 minutes because of how awful it was. Yes the animation was pretty, yes the characters were cute…but there was no point to anything (as it would be in a 4koma) and I don’t find the song catchy (or catchier than Hare Hare Yuukai.) It almost seems like this whole show is just a marketing ploy to milk off Haruhi, Hirano Aya and whatever fame Lucky Star has. They spent the first 7 minutes talking about how they eat various types of food.

I really don’t give a crap if people get pissed at me for insulting this show, but to me it’s THIS SHOW that’s a waste of resources. Kanon was a beautiful story and had a characters with personalities beyond “I’m cute and moe and I wear a school uniform.” This is just to target Otaku who go MOE over stupid girls eating food (and doing whatever the hell else they manage to squeeze in the next 23 weeks.) They even admit this if you listen to the lyrics of the song where you can hear crap like “we wear our seifuku” and “cute” all over the place. And this is supposed to be 24 episodes? Heezus! I couldn’t even sit through more than 7 minutes, and they wanna try to run this into a wall for 24 episodes? Yea, no thanks, I’ll pass. I’ll be looking forward to Clannad, KyoAni-san-tachi.

I cannot rave and LOL enough about this show. Hey they even threw in a Detective Conan statue! XD I also really loved how they kept going “the end” and the voices were like “wait damnit it’s not over yet!” I don’t even know how to blog this properly because to fully understand the hillarity you have to just sit down and watch it yourself. Basically what happened is Hayate becomes Nagi’s butler and he’s really good at cleaning it seems. Then he runs into Nagi’s manga (I bet she draws yaoi doujinshi XD) and she’s angry that he calls it a “picture book” so she boots him out. Then they realize he has a large amount of money due and so he’s taken away by those dudes again. Nagi puts on a stupid mask and goes to “save him”. She gives them the money and asks him “on behalf of the ojousama” to come back and be a butler once more. I know it sounds simple but the way it was put together just cracked me up. It’s really been a while since I watched a show and actually laughed out loud or cracked a (non-sarcastic) smile. I’m hesitant about getting the manga since usually the manga is better than the anime and I want to continue enjoying the anime for what it is, rather than comparing its flaws to the original work.
