Nana - 47 (Finale) + AMV Information
So episode 47 concluded Nana,
which although I stopped blogging months ago, I have actually been keeping up with. Since this is the final episode I figured I’d just add some final thoughts. Obviously the ending is incomplete and it left me rather confused. Last week we left off where Jrock-Nana was telling Nobu once again that he can make Hachi-Nana happier than fagass Takumi. So in the end Nobu chickens out and Nana goes to see fireworks with a disguised Shin, Nana and Yasu. What confused me was how they showed Nana and her daughter Satsuki with no explanation of what happened in between. I haven’t read the manga so….
a) Did she NOT marry Takumi?
b) When Nobu grabs her hand and they show her kimono on the floor…are they getting together now? Is this what she meant by making “that summer” dream come true now?
c) Shin looks hot when he’s grown up and his hair isn’t blue.
(don’t mind me)
So in general it was an okay anime. Often times I felt myself going in circle as far as relationships. It seems like the only “change of pace” was when Nana went from Shouji to Takumi/Yasu/Nobu/whoever but in the end she still cried for Shouji. How much more abuse can she take from the mangaka? Sheesh!
In somewhat related news, Stage6 died….so with previous suggestions I moved myself (once again) to Daily Motion…where you can find my Nana/Bokura ga Ita amv.

Oh, man, do tastes differ. This show may be one of my top five favorites now, and this episode might have been the best of all. That jump of seven years at the beginning, to when Hachi is making her annual pilgrimage to be with her friends for the fireworks, amazingly with her daughter in tow, just blew my mind and put my heart in my throat. The rest of the episode was just as powerful, for me. I haven’t read the manga, but I took for granted that Hachi was still with Takumi — or at least still married to him and being supported by him. I’ll bet he’s not a very faithful husband, though, and her life, while “comfortable,” is no bed of roses. I think the scene when Nobu took her hand was just to show that they still loved each other — but knew they could not get together. The hand he held was wearing Takumi’s ring. Life can be cruel. I watch drama for emotion, and this show gave it to me in spades. Deeper and truer by far than 95 percent of other anime. But yes, Yazawa Ai did put both Nanas through a lot.
oh so shes still married to takumi?
damnit why doesnt the girl ever end up with the RIGHT guy in aizawas manga
I was so disappointed with the end to paradise kiss
Stage6 is back…bigger and “beta” RAWR
I haven’t seen this episode yet, but I do read the manga (which I recommend if you like the anime but you may choose to pick up where the anime left off). I prefer the manga to the anime because the anime doesn’t capture the feelings I got from the manga, though the music was a welcome addition. Like Hashihime said, Hachi and Takumi are still married because Satsuki is very much Takumi’s child, Takumi is not faithful to Hachi, Nobu and Hachi care very deeply for each other but won’t act on that because Hachi remains Takumi’s wife. Oh, the drama. I’m a bit confused by the anime ending when there seems to be so much left to animate. I guess people can always go read the manga. Plus, Shin was always hotter in the manga because his hair is never colored at all!
Haha, yeah, I hate Takumi with a passion, and yes, she stays with him (who knows why, he keeps raping and betraying her until volume 13).
Nice to know that the anime is over and stops at volume 12. Back then, when I started reading Nana, it was definitely my number one shoujo. However, after volume 14, the manga has become a bit boring and I feel like I’ve grown out of it ^^;;;
Maybe I’ll go back watching the anime for the sake of nostalgy *g* (I actually stopped at episode 5.)
I started to read Nana, but I stopped after a whlie… it became just too much like a soap opera for my taste. The relationships and the drama are really good, but somehow I also felt it was all going in circles with nothing really happening. :/
>Hinano
Paradise Kiss the anime or the manga? Because I think the ending of the ParaKiss manga is very good and satisfying. The end of the anime was horribly done, but then, the whole anime was a pretty screwed up adaptation.
I sorta skipped to the end of the manga and it seemed like it was the same as the anime oO;
rawr spoiler! but is anybody subbing it, last subbed ep I saw was 36 or so?
I saw the last episode a few days ago and read some information about the manga in wikipedia
When they showed Satsuki ( I still dont get how people still think that she could be Nobu´s child with Takumi screaming all over her ¬¬ ) the anime went 7 years to the future and then, came back to the night when they are watching the fireworks
in MY opinion, NANA is dead ( and was killed by Ren ) or missed , thats why they were all so sad when looked to her old kimono and Hachi said that the summer that she ( NANA ) wished for but couldnt see was there

Nana is dead?? O___o wtf haha im soo confused I haven’t read the manga
well, as far as I am concerned possibly Nana is getting some disorder with memory lapses etc… Brain cancer? Parkinson? no idea…
O.o Nana’s not dead … she’s just in a pub in England with no memory (or something whack like that; but she’s not dead).
You should read the manga, Hinano–it’s pretty good stuff. Of course, this comes from someone who is starting to get far behind, but … ah, well ^^;;
i love the manga.. but i agree abt the earlier volumes being better.. the manga itself shows many scenes skipping to the future n back.. well.. i didnt follow the anime.. but if like u said they suddenly do the time skip.. maybe it’d leave anime viewers abit confused..
i hope hachi n nobu gets together somehow.. haiis.. wonder wad happened to nobu’s gf.. hmmmm hahas
You really need to read the manga! it’s way better! I mean it’s starting to get a little out of control and really frustrating (kind of like 90210 type of show…) but it’s addictive either way and then you’ll understand where nana’s daughter comes in (and thank god it’s takumi’s - you can tell by the way she looks!). I’m actually happy Takumi & Nana are together! it’s what she always wanted, it’s the boy of her dreams.
And yes I have to agree- Shin looks really hot all grown up…
I actually disliked Takumi from day one so hearing this actually makes me sad ^^;
I also heard that in the manga Nana is really a big ho and that the anime sorta tones it all down for the viewers. I also wish she had ended up with Nobu
Hinano: The lesson is ‘life doesn’t always have a happy ending’, and ’sometimes, people change’ - this is particularly true of Takumi, Hachi, and Nana herself to some degree. Nobu, on the other hand, stays pretty static… which is why things end up the way they do.
Still, better someone like Takumi than say… that salaryman from way back when.
got to stupid 36,5 summary episode, please, accelerate the subs rate!!!
I agree with the takumi haters.
Nobu is the better choice by far and when hachi chose Takumi…well I actually cried a bit. I gave up on the manga and will only begin again if I get word that Hachi leaves Tak ewww mi.
i like both Takumi and Nobu. It s just hard to choose which one really should be with hachi. But I do beleive that Takumi is a more realistic male character than Nobu. The fact that she ends up with the “bad” guy makes the all thing really dramatic and addictive……and Satsuki is a really sweet little girl.
i wanna see nana with Yasu and big dramas between Ren, Shin and Reira….but i don t thnik it will happen.
i agree episode 36,5 is just a joke!
I read somewhere, can’t quite remember, that the last episode of the anime isn’t really “the end” but rather just a break while they wait for the manga to finish at which point they will start making the anime again to wrap it all up. I have no idea if this is true or not, but given the above average fidelity the anime makers have had with the manga material, I could see that being the case. Rather than pulling the usual anime trick of making up their own ending when the manga is unfinished, maybe they really are just gonna wait for the manga story to wrap up and then faithfully animate that too. I can only hope!
I am still pretty behind on the anime/manga so I’m not up to speed on all the latest plot developments, but the “tragic” sense I get from a lot of the hachiko monologues makes me feel that this series might go with the Japanese fondness for bittersweet or outright tragic endings.
Guess only time will tell, Volume 17 of the manga seems to be and someone said that was the end, but who knows really.
Musouka, I hope what you just said is TRUE!!! But I though about the same thing as well. It would make sense.
It s true that if we have a weird ending such as Paradise kiss, it won t be be cool.
nana is not dead yet. Finally Chapter 66 of the manga is out and I’ve finished reading it. Blah! Nobu and Hachi are y inlove w/ each other (yepee!) as far as i can see. ats all i wanna say .
I don’t wanna spoil it for ever1.. go read the manga.
WTF?! I hate its ending!! D:
Hmm… for some reason, after watch some parts in the anime, i think that Hachi loves Takumi more than Nobu. It’s true that Nobu is much nicer than Takumi, but like Nana said he is not mature enough. He can’t take the big responsibility of being the father nor the husband. I could not confess and say anything to hachi before everything is too late. While even though Takumi is a player, he does know how to take resposibility and very realistic. Nana herself is too emotional and it seems like she feels bad and pity Nobu rather than loving him.
can someone tell me, is chapter 66 is the final chapter or what ? b’cause i don’t understand.
well actualy now i’m reading the manga..but i started with the anime…i’m really confused 0___0 wtf?! i don’t get it. doese hatchi love takumi or nobu…and is that really the last episode of the anime…b’cuz there are like, 20 smth chapters left…WTF is going on?!?! can please anyone tell me!!!
Does anyone know where I can read some of the manga in English? Or where I can maybe order it?
My thoughts on Nana… I kinda started hating Hachiko because she just seemed so whishy washy.lol And whats up with going back to Boku Shouji her ex? That makes her seem even more stupid. I was rooting for Hach in the beginning but she just started to piss me off. I think Takumi like said earlier is better for her, cause dating Nobu will only keep her back. She probably needed a reality check and thats why they brought homeboy (Tak) into her life.
The thing with Jrock Nana is crazy. I love him I dont love him. Make up your damn mind. If you love him, ‘uck it, be with him and persue your career. Why does it have to be one or the other. Its not like he doesnt want to be with her.
This Anime drama gets me so cross, but I just love it to death.lol
I give it (4) ****
I Really like the manga more than I like the Anime, because There ‘re more details in the manga. I think that Nana ( Hachi) choose Takumi , because she knew that’s her baby child. I think Takumi is better for her. I read until the last chapter of the manga, the one that is being released right now which is chapter 68 ( volume 18), and it looks like that he really care for , Takumi, so I think that Nana is better off with him , than Nobu.
ahhh….wait…what do u mean takumi is player??
He is cheating behind hachi back????
wait. Will Nana have a second season or something? because it did feel incomplete to me too. And why isn’t anyone subbing it? I understood sort of what was going on, but I can’t understand exactly what they were saying.
I hope the show is continued. It is one of my favorite animes.
I’m just worried about how the relationship between Nobu and Nana will turn out. Since she has a child now, but he looks like he had grown up and learned to care for her daughter… i don’t know. I hope they finish the series. by the way, what volume is the manga up to? because maybe they can’t finish the anime until they know how the manga will turn out. I don’t know. Just a guess.
I’m completely surprised that episode 47 was to be the ending of this anime. I’ve watched the entire episodes and the ending is really vague and it’s missing so many pieces that would patch up the entire story. However, given that flaw, by far this is the only anime (in my opinion) that is really close to reality. Even though there are sections wherein you feel it’s resembling too much of a soap opera, but somehow the anime manage to capture the realistic tone of it at the ending.
I agree with Haesslich, coz if you look at it in a realistic and mature way, Hatchi is way better off with Takumi than with Nobu. If she’s single and doesn’t have satsuki I would have voted Nobu for her, but in this case I felt Hachi wasn’t only thinking of herself but also of Satsuki. Nobu is still immature and I think he can’t handle that kind of responsibility. Plus Hachi is the type of woman who can’t surive without a guy. She totally depends on them to fill her world. Also, have you seen the previous episodes? She’s frivolous! Takumi would definitely put some sense into her and make her mature. Well, Takum is not exactly perfect but in the real world, some guys really come with that package. It’s really up to Hatchi how to deal with it and somehow (if she can do it) make him change.
to those who want to read the manga, you can go to nana-nana.net, particularly here: http://www.nana-nana.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=10940&sid=bc9c8bd50b103900e197431307dfe92a
you can also visit the takoyakis site, the nana manga scanlators…@ http://destined.to/takoyakis
they currently have until chapter 67 (of volume 18) out plus a side chapter on takumi’s story. the anime ends at volume 12, i think…o.O
justr saw ep.47, it makes me feel want to know what happened during this 7 years…
The manga’s not even finished…
We’re all confused with the future. Because Ai Yazawa flashes back and forth now…..The manga is great, I personally think. And so is the anime. Incomplete ending aside, that is, as the manga isn’t done and you can be sure Nana fans are going to be majorly pissed-off if the most PERFECT manga-to-anime adaptation of Ai Yazawa’s works, and ONE OF THE BEST manga-to-anime adaptation in a long time is screwed up because the directors make up some weird ending that cuts the series short. But apparently, after the manga ends, there will most like be a 2nd seasons. So you can wait then. XD
And I think relationship changed loads. Hachi grew personally and took responsibility, (obviously because she now has a KID). Nana is following into a “depression” deeper and deeper (only that’s not wrapped up in the anime, really)…Takumi and Hachi’s relation is deepening, but not sure if it’s love…but in a twisted, unconditional love kind of way, like they’re stuck with each other….Hachi and Nobu went through a beautiful relationship which they can always cherish but will most likely always hurt and slight regret. Yasu and Nana as well…Plus Nana and Ren’s relationship …They’re all changing as Nana changes. But it’s not wrapped up well. I’m waiting for the 2nd season on pins and needles.
