i didin’t bother to watch the 02 version since the art was reeli painful too see after watchin kanon 06. i get the story though, much more than AIR XD….basically, she doesn’t have the headband cuz he never gave it to her. she fell off the tree…and liike, after she fell in the coma, she reeli watned to see yuuichi again so that will brought her soul to see him which was they ayu we saw through the whole seires wearin the red headband and eatin taiyaki ^^ but then, when the time came that she would almost wake up, her “dream” started to fade cuz you can’t “dream” if you’re not asleep i guess….hope i cleared things up a bit and sorry for the long post..

TOEI made the Clannad movie while KyoAni is making the TV series. Kyoani’s version looks 20 times nicer. I did a game review for Clannad, so be sure to check it out if you’re interested

There’s another anime called CLANNAD coming out in september i think. Its made by well i tink TOEI or Kyo. Some people say that the game is being made by TOEI n the televiion series by Kyo or maybe the other way round. The trailer is awesome~

The main thing I didn’t like about KyoAni’s version compared to TOEI’s is the complete lack of story revolving around Nayuki being in love with him at the end. While they were cousins and destined not to be together. It should have still been presented and it wasn’t. I haven’t played the game so I don’t know if it is in it, but it certainly did make TOEI’s version a much better and more interesting watch at the end.

not sure if anyone noticed it. Just before the EP, there was a shot of a fox at the edge behind the plant that grew on the giant tree that was cut down… I think it looks like makoto is genki too!

I agree with hinano. This is by far the worst episode of kanon and it had to be the concluding episode. The ending was so confusing even after watching it twice I didn’t understand. All we can offer are theories about what the real ending is. In the end, Kyoto Animation dabbled too much in flashbacks and sub-reality such that the sublime meaning got lost. What illusion? What reality? What dream? It reminds me of the dream of chuang chou:

“Once Chuang Chou dreamt he was a butterfly, a butterfly flitting and fluttering around, happy with himself and doing as he pleased. He didn’t know he was Chuang Chou. Suddenly he woke up and there he was, solid and unmistakable Chuang Chou. But he didn’t know if he was Chuang Chou who had dreamt he was a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming he was Chuang Chou.”

The only thing is the viewers of kanon 2006 are chuang chou and now we can’t tell if the story is the reality, the dream, the past, or the illusion or otherwise…XD
