I know WTF right? So yea it seems this really was the final episode. They really skipped around and shortened the big climax which disappoints me because they coulda gotten rid of the idiotic filler episodes and maybe stretched this whole thing out instead. I prefer story over fillers unless fillers are good, but in this case the fillers sucked and this really puts a damper on my ending of the series. For those who do not know, the manga is still going but after the manga there’s just a small arc with a reverse trap that ends in the April issue so I guess that’s why they ran short of story to animate. So this week Gaara is still fighting Deidara and it progressed to him finally blowing Deidara’s arm off. I coulda sworn in the manga he blew both arms off. Will have to check that later. The highlight of the week for me was when they finally showed the scene of Naruto asking Sakura to go on a date and her agreeing only if he pays. I also liked what the anime team added when he was like “but what if you pay half…” and she promptly says “NO.” XD Yea that tickled my NaruSaku fancy. So Deidara finally unleased his explosive thing on the village so maybe Gaara will die next week.

To be honest…I’m unsatisfied with the ending and I’m gonna give props to TOEI because I felt they wrapped it up better. I think the whole idea of showing Ayu in a coma and then having them take “care” of her was ridiculous. The other lovely plothole is if Mai has these great healing powers, why didn’t she just use them on Ayu? Or did they disappear when the monsters disappeared. Continue Reading »
